Description:This petition is to bring awarness to the Support of Michael Vick and his mis-representation in the media The media has made it seem as if Michael Vick is an evil non-sympathetic human being and gave the assumption that he has little or no support. They seemed to focus and thrive on the negative and the humiliation of Mr. Vick. However, the media failed to tell you about the many churches Mr. Vick funded in his home town of Virginia. They neglected to mention how he gave back to his college of Virginia Tech to help support the education of the rising and upcoming students. They failed to let you know about any of the good deeds Mr. Vick has contributed. They failed to make the public aware of the many charities Mr. Vick contibuted to, they forgot to let the public know about the lady that was in a store with her children during the Christmas season that couldn't afford to buy her kids Christmas gifts and Mr. Vick, not knowing the lady, nor did the lady know who he was, reached into his pocket and gave the lady an undisclosed amount of money so that her and her children could enjoy the holidays. They failed to mention that Michael Vick brought a city back alive and brought in a great amount of revenue to the City Of Atlanta. They failed to mention Mr. Vick made fans happy and eager to attend the football games. Once again, they failed to state that Michael Vick was the ONLY player Atlanta had to sell out the Dome. How is it that Michael Vick's case is so highly profiled by the media, and you hear nothing of relevance that needs the media attention like the GERNARLOW WILSON case OR the JENA SIX...don't they deserve the type of media coverage Michael Vick had/has? This petition is to show that Mr. Vick is not a bad person he just got caught up in a bad situation and how the media can portray even a human being as nothing more than an animal! We all support Mike and we agree that dog fighting is wrong...but does this warrant the unfairness and the hatred some of these 'Animal Right and 'Humane society' protestors are demonstrating? The way they are promoting the hatered and violence towards Michael is what the media needs to be looking into...these people are filled with HATE And Violence...and isn't violence what they're protesting against? or does that just go for animals and not humans! Violence is Violence...so let's be fair! there have been far more serious crimes (not to down play dog fighting) that have, and still are going on in the world... that have gotten less media attention and less jail time! We ask that you consider his good deeds when making your determination. Give him his job back! Loading People... |

I believe that he has paid the price. He deserves to be able to play in the NFL - what he did was wrong, but there are people still playing that have done things also. I am not saying that dog fighting is compariable to drug use, but what about drunk driving? Why is it OK to get behind the wheel and risk killing someone but if you get caught you get a fine, and a few game suspension? Come on - this has gone too far -- I have a 11 year old that wants to know what actors can go to jail and rehab and then get out and be able to make movies again, why can't Vick play football again? I think he has a good point.
Yes, donating to a church gives you license to abuse animals! That makes a lot of sense. He should rot in jail or better yet, be treated like he treated those poor defenseless animals!!
It is people like you that continue to keep this **** going. You act as if Michael Vick is the only person who has ever been involved in dogfighting, has been going on all of the time and didn't stop when he got locked up, but you never hear about the other cases because you really don't care. No one condones dogfighting or cruelty to animals in any form, but lets get real here, you people are making a big issue out of this because he made big money has a name and all that came with it. And don't say it is because he is suppose to be a role model for the young children, that is bull to as a parent you are suppose to be a role model for your own. Grow up and stop with the crap,if you were all that concerned you would be out there in the streets (not on the computer) doing you part in stopping abuse of animals. Even though I feel that what Vick did was beyond horrible, I do believe that he deserves a second chance just like anyone else. The publicity of this situation has gone way beyond belief. If this much attention was given to lost and exploited children, maybe we could help some of them. I am beginning to wonder why is there so much hate towards this man when there are certainly people commit much worse crimes. I don't know if it has that much to do with racism as it does with this man's postion and the jealousy of it. But in any case it really doesn't matter when he has completed his time in prison he should be allowed to return to this career and I don't see why the NFL wouldn't allow him back.
I continue to be a supporter of Michael Vick because no man should be forced to endure what he has had to endure. He is continously mock. Dog fight is wrong, but the abuse of humans is just as wrong. Whee is the outcry when chldren are molested? Where is the outcry when women ae savely raped as the woman was raped in West Virginia, etc.
Vick has asked for forgiveness. I am sure God has forgiven him. To those who continue I merely refer to two passages and truths, "let him who is without sin cast the first stone. "He who shows no forgiveness will receive no forgiveness.
As far as Vick playing for the NFL is concerned the NFL is not the only football team around. The United Football League will be a success. Some might ask where will they obtain the players I merely reply the players might be those who continue to play second string in the NFL and are not allowed to display their talents. Players may also include those who have been harshly penalyzed by the NFL while others are merely given a "tap" on the cheek. Don't worry the United Football League will survive. Just wait and see. Vick could also be a voice which speaks to today's youth. His message will be merely "I turned my life around and you can turn your life around. Who better to convey that message than someone who has been there.
Michael has suffered a terrible wrong. He has been severely mocked. I hope he returns to the NFL if only to prove that he has not been demaged by the things which have occurred. I predict that he will be a much better player because of a desire to provide events have not harmed him. I hope he wil be a champion for the United Football League which is trying to become a major player. The NFL has become arrogrant. Some might ask where will the players come from. I am sure there are many second string players on the NFL who desire to prove their abilities. I am sure there are some players who have been cut by the NFL for many reasons who would desire a second chance. I gurantee that the team will eventually provide opposition to the NFL.
Vick could become a spokesman to youngsters who have "gotten into trouble and became a citizn in the juvenile hustice system. His message will be there is a second chance for those who made initial mistakes. Just try. I did it.

I am so happy to find out about this site. I have been a fan for Vick for years. I have felt so helpless in the way he has been treated and portrayed by the media. He used bad judgement and he is paying his debt to society because of lobbying by animal rights groups. I am sure he will be a better person. Dogfighting will continue. He can use this to make it a positive and help educate the youth about making better decisions.

You know people like you are really beginning to get on my nerve, you act like Vick is the creator of the sport of dogfighting, well he's not, he is locked up and dogfighting continues and even larger rings that what they say Vick has. Of course what he did was wrong but be for real he is not the only one dogfighting continues. If Michael Vick had been a white athlete you would have heard very little about it. And another thing stop trying to use athelete as a role model for you children, because for the most part all the athlete and celebrities have issues simply because they are all human.

I personally don't care how good a player Michael Vick is....the fact is he committed a crime and needs to do the time!! I think it's about time the Courts have finally started holding some of these celebrities responsible for their poor choices.
As for everyone "convicting" the media for all the coverage....get a clue, these people have a job to do. Why blame the media for reporting other peoples poor choices? I agree that some reporters go overboard and truly invade the privacy of some, however, they have should not have an expectation of privacy when they are out in public.

I am trying to post comments however I think that I am doing something wrong, I do however support michael vick to the upmost.
I have read many of these comments and I do agree with some and others I don't. I agree with those who make the comment that what Michaeal Vick did was cold and cruel, and for that he deserved to be punished, I am a dog lover and I do have a dog whom I treat as a member of my family. What I don't agree with his how he has been treated, there are too many other athletes that have been accused and convicted of far worse things than dog fighting and recieved little or no media attention. I think the sentence he recieved was way over the line. I don't use athletes as role models for my children simply because most of do dum things just like Michael Vick. There was recently a case in the area in which I live involving a young white man (with prior felony conviction) was found guilty of doing the exact same thing that Michael Vick was doing including killing pit bulls, he was convicted and sentenced to two years probation and a $5,000.00 fine. That is truly a big jump from the sentence Vick recieved. Within the last year there have been at least three seperates incidents involving pit bulls attacking and mauling people, the last appproximately four months ago causing the death of a two month old baby. In a number of surrounding cities near my home pit bulls are banned totally. None of what I am saying gave Vick the right to do what he did I'm only saying that he was not treated unfairly and he does deserve a second chance. I hope that people can with will allow him that, I'm sure we all have made mistakes regardless to how large or small and wanted to be forgiven. Not to mention I don't believe all that I read and hear in the media which tells me none of really know just how involved he was in the dogfighting, nor do we really know why he accepted the plea deal, because I know for a fact that plea deals can sometimes be very tricky and sticky for a number of reasons. People lets keep that in mind. Thank You

What is the purpose of getting on this site to primarily point out the inadequate grammar and punctuation of the other writers. Spelling is by no means a criteria for intellegence. Punctuation is really a choice. Get a life intellectual midget and quit being a critique of the thoughts and intellect of others. Really had to get THAT out of the way.
I agree, Michael Vick has become another victom of "political correctness". Dog fighting is acceptable in the environment in which Michael was brought up. He doesn't deserve to lose his hard won athletic position.This injustice will simply serve to "prove" to many disadvantaged Blacks that you just can't receive justice in the White Man's system of jurisdiction.
