Description:This petition is to bring awarness to the Support of Michael Vick and his mis-representation in the media The media has made it seem as if Michael Vick is an evil non-sympathetic human being and gave the assumption that he has little or no support. They seemed to focus and thrive on the negative and the humiliation of Mr. Vick. However, the media failed to tell you about the many churches Mr. Vick funded in his home town of Virginia. They neglected to mention how he gave back to his college of Virginia Tech to help support the education of the rising and upcoming students. They failed to let you know about any of the good deeds Mr. Vick has contributed. They failed to make the public aware of the many charities Mr. Vick contibuted to, they forgot to let the public know about the lady that was in a store with her children during the Christmas season that couldn't afford to buy her kids Christmas gifts and Mr. Vick, not knowing the lady, nor did the lady know who he was, reached into his pocket and gave the lady an undisclosed amount of money so that her and her children could enjoy the holidays. They failed to mention that Michael Vick brought a city back alive and brought in a great amount of revenue to the City Of Atlanta. They failed to mention Mr. Vick made fans happy and eager to attend the football games. Once again, they failed to state that Michael Vick was the ONLY player Atlanta had to sell out the Dome. How is it that Michael Vick's case is so highly profiled by the media, and you hear nothing of relevance that needs the media attention like the GERNARLOW WILSON case OR the JENA SIX...don't they deserve the type of media coverage Michael Vick had/has? This petition is to show that Mr. Vick is not a bad person he just got caught up in a bad situation and how the media can portray even a human being as nothing more than an animal! We all support Mike and we agree that dog fighting is wrong...but does this warrant the unfairness and the hatred some of these 'Animal Right and 'Humane society' protestors are demonstrating? The way they are promoting the hatered and violence towards Michael is what the media needs to be looking into...these people are filled with HATE And Violence...and isn't violence what they're protesting against? or does that just go for animals and not humans! Violence is Violence...so let's be fair! there have been far more serious crimes (not to down play dog fighting) that have, and still are going on in the world... that have gotten less media attention and less jail time! We ask that you consider his good deeds when making your determination. Give him his job back! Loading People... |

Vick should be doing community service working at an animal shelter. I don't agree with jail time, but since he is there, they should put him in a program that helps inmates learn compassion by working with and training potential service dogs. When you take good care of dogs, they will return the favor 100% Dogs were put on this earth to serve people, not to be abused. One of this forums comments that they are just dogs!!!!! She is definitely not a sweety.
Let's let all rich and famous people out of jail, for whatever crimes they've committed. After all, they must have donated some money to charity, took pity on some poor slob or worked a tele-a-thon or two at some point in their glamorous careers. Hell, kidnapping, rape even murder can be forgiven. Let's just forgive and forget. Everyone needs a second chance. Of course, we must remember that only the rich and famous need second chances... the rest should rot in prison because I don't want those dirt bags living next to me! Because as Jeff J. said, Vick was demonized. How dare they charge him with a crime! Charging and convicting him is a sure sign of demonization. To hell with evidence, proof and the rule of law! Forgive and let him have his life back- except for those that deserve it... like the homeless, the poor and the insane.
michael vick is a good player i dont agree whith what he did but at the same time everone has there own levels of entertainment he likes fighting dogs an oyher people like fighting humans so if its wrong to pump dogs full of drugs an have people pay or bet on them to fight than it is compleatly wrong to watch pay-per-veiw or hbo i mean whats the differance a human's life is more valuable than a dogs right or are they concidered just about the same but who am i let him play if he serves his time for his chrime than no further punishment is nessary

I would like to start off by saying that I am so excited that there are still people out there that realize that Michael Vick made a mistake and continue to support him. This situation has gone entirely too far and it is so unfair that he was found guily by the press, NFL, The Atlanta Falcons Franchise and everyone else out there immediately. I am sickened by the way that this situation has been handled. There are internet pictures, videos, and webpages out there that are calling for this man to die because he was dogfighting. PETA.....as much as they despise him continue to make money for their organization off of exploiting Michael Vick and this situation. I know that he is not the first person to be caught dogfighting and will not be the last. We all know that he made a mistake but guess what....everyone does!!!! The last time I checked, there was no such thing as a perfect person. Are there not more pressing issues in this country such as poverty, war, and lets not talk about the numerous killers, pedophiles, terriorist....need I go on? I think that people have lost sight of who Michael Vick is and forgot about the fact that he really is a good person in spite of his recent misfortune. His career has been taken from him and his reputation has been trashed. Really, what else can you do to this man that hasn't already been done. I am not condoning what he did, punish him FAIRLY allow him to move on with his life. As Toreanna stated, I too am a vegetarian and do not believe in the harsh treatment of animals.I am also a dog lover however, I understand that there comes a time when everyone needs to accept what happened, embrace it (we can't change the past), and move on. Let him play!!!! He deserves a second chance just like Ray Lewis(double murder change), Kobe Bryant(rape), Chris Henry(violating code of conduct), Tank Johnson(weapons charge), need I go on? Let him play!!! I personally don't live in GA, but have traveled to Atlanta many weekends so that I could be in the Georgia Dome to watch him play. I was a fan and a Mike Vick supporter before the dogfighting and will continue to support him. In closing, I say free Mike Vick, give him a second chance, and let him play!!

It seems as though there are millions of people not working. Why should they, when the middle class supports their lazy behinds. I wish I could live to see the day, all people have to work and not be given a free ride.
As far as Vick is concerned, he is a very poor roll model for our children. Alot of sports stars are. For one, they are all overpaid, alot of people who have to work for a living can't afford to go to these sports events.
I rescue dogs, including pit bulls. These dogs aren't bad, their dumb owners are!!!! Do people realize, dogs that are abused to the max are so mentally disturbed that if and when they ever get away, some innocent person will surely be hurt or probably killed? Did Vic and his idiot followers ever think of that?

what Michael has been accused of is totally wrong...I think I said that in my petition...But Did it deserve National Attention...I mean C'mon over kill is Over kill...all I'm asking is when does the Forgiveness process began...I Love my DOGS also...( I have two) However I wouldn't own a PITT BULL!!! Because I don't think of them as Family Pets... In England they use Pitt Bulls as sport fighters (not making excuses) They kill Deers they are just as innocent...we are supposed to be a being of Forgiveness...We forgave the hockey player who killed his team mate in a DUI accident...He's still playing Hockey and was never suspended!!! But when do we (YOU) start forgiving...that does not mean except his behavior...he's not the first person to ever commit a form of BAD BEHAVIOR...Just as the HOCKEY PLAYER who killed his team mate a few years ago in a DUI accident and was able to continue to play for the Hockey league, he even asked to be traded because the memory of his friend in Atlanta was tormenting him and the NHL accomodated him and traded him to another team to take off some of the pressure...HIS BAD BEHAVIOR and BAD DECISION caused the LIFE of A HUMAN BEING...yet society forgave him...he basically did NO time in jail...and he's still playng hockey today...Again...I'm hearing what you're saying and we're basically agreeing...so for you to try to INSULT the level my ELEMENTARY DEPTH is totally unnecessary and irrelevant...
And to question Michael Vick's up bringing by his mother is totally unfair...how does any of us know what 'his mama' taught him and if you have children you will know -mom and dad can teach us to be the 'perfect little angels' but it's up to US as to how we portray that when WE become Adults...I'm not making excuses for Michael...I don't even know the man (DO YOU?) But he's young, he nieve, and what he was involved with was totally wrong! You don't have a point with the hokey incident. He didn't mean to kill him friend in the accident. Vick KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING AND MEANT TO DO IT. There is a huge difference between accidents and negligence.
There is definitely a point with the hockey player that man was driving drunk, and didn't do a day, any time someone gets behind the wheel after drinking and causes the death of himself or another individual is just as guilty as someone who pulled a trigger and killed someone, drunk driving is not an accident.
