Taylor gained 19 lbs. for this movie and has promised 10 more by the time they start filming he is dedicated!!!! also he is a 16 year old guy he WILL grow before the end of the movie and isn't that how it was supposed to be in the book?? so in conclusion make taylor lautner Jacob Black or don't make a movie!!!!

I think that Taylor Lautner should play Jacob Black in New Moon because he already played him in Twilight and was excellent! Why would the director change the actor???? That would just be dumb and if Taylor doesn't play Jacob then I refuse to watch the movie...I read the book and that's good enough for me if Taylor doesn't play Jacob.And if Taylor doesn't play Jacob then I'm 100% positive that the movie veiws will not be as high as Twilight..just because Taylor's not in it.

Ugh. Taylor Lautner really isn't a very good actor. I mean his part in Twilight was just.. pitiful. Plus, Jacob Black is supposed to grow several inches by New Moon and look closer to a man than a boy. Does Taylor Lautner fit this description? No, he does not. People who campaign for him to reprise his role do this solely because he is "good looking" and not based on his acting skills or his physical description. Michael Copon could be Taylor Lautner's twin and fits the part for Jacob. I'm just disappointed that so many whiny tweens have basically ruined the New Moon movie.

I'm a huge fan of the books and movie - Taylor definately portrays the character of Jacob, and has captured the persona so well. Changing characters disrupts the flow of the series. He is a great actor, and with a bit of make-up to make him look slightly older he will be great. As for too short? Look at Lord of the Rings - the special effects made tall people look short and via versa. height should not be an issue. Another actor playing Jacob will just not be the same, not to mention the Jacob-fans who may not go to see the new movie with a replacement for Taylor in that role!
