Description:

SSRI's such as Prozac, Paxel, and Zoloft, have recently been revealed to have serious risk, and are linked to suicide, violence, psychosis, abnormal bleeding, and brain tumors.  Our health care providers will not share this information. Or at least, mine didn't. Prozac sent me to the hospital 3 days after taken the med.

 Facts About Prozac

Millions of Americans are on it to treat everything from serious depression to shyness, obesity, PMS, and back pain. They've been told it has few, or no, side effects. But what is the dark side of Prozac? Has the FDA told you everything it knows about the drug's potentially dangerous side effects? What essential facts must you have if you are already taking Prozac, or are considering taking it? Find out:

  • What Prozac's label won't tell you.
  • The truth about serious and life-threatening reactions.
  • Cases of sexual dysfunction from Prozac, particularly in men.
  • If Prozac can lead to violence, murder, or suicide.
  • What Prozac has in common with cocaine and amphetamines.
  • The panic and anxiety Prozac can cause - not cure.

A major million drug company made $1.2 billion from Prozac in one year. But what is its cost to you?!

  • The maker, Eli Lilly, insists prosaic is safe, but there is an avalanche of lawsuits against the company and physicians who have prescribed it.
  • Fans of the drug say it can make "normal" people feel better than they ever have.. BUT there are hundreds of cases of users who become emotionally disturbed, or committed suicide or murder while on Prozac.
  • The drug company says there are no long-term effects from Prozac... BUT the FDA approved it only for depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
  • Prozac has been praised for making its users "less sensitive"... BUT it also makes them less in-touch with reality, less caring, and less loving.
  • Prozac is taken for "winter blues", obesity, anorexia, bulimia, phobia, anxiety, panic disorder, chronic fatigue syndrome, PMS, post-partum depression, drug and alcohol dependence, migraines, arthritis, and behavioral problems in children... BUT the FDA approved it only for depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

HOW PROZAC CAN HELP

Safety Facts

PROZAC is one of the the world's most widely prescribed antidepressants; it has been prescribed to more than 54 million people worldwide. Additionally, PROZAC is one of the most thoroughly studied medicines.

Things to Know About PROZAC
PROZAC is available by prescription only.

A rash can be a sign of a serious medical condition. See your doctor immediately if you develop a rash while taking PROZAC. Also, you should not take PROZAC at the same time as or within 2 weeks if stopping a type of antidepressant medication known as an MAO inhibitor. Don't take MAO inhibitors for at least 5 weeks after stopping PROZAC.

Thioridazine should not be administered with PROZAC or within a minimum of 5 weeks after PROZAC has been discontinued.

PROZAC, Prozac® Weekly™, generic versions of PROZAC, and Sarafem® contain the same active ingredient, fluoxetine hydrochloride. Some people experience mild side effects like nausea, difficulty sleeping, drowsiness, anxiety, nervousness, weakness, loss of appetite, tremors, dry mouth, sweating, decreased sex drive, impotence, or yawning. These tend to go away within a few weeks of starting treatment and, in most cases, aren't serious enough to cause people to stop taking PROZAC.

the fact is that it does work for many people... yeah it does have sometimes major side effects for some people but you gotta think about it this way: the people that were put on PROZAC already had depression. That can cause many of those symptoms, and all at once. So is it better for them to be on those meds or off? PROZAC doesnt work for many people they SHOULD try other options. I dont think it should be banned for everyone because many people do find it effective and use it. Medication isnt always the best option and its true we have no idea what the long term side effects are. personally i wouldnt use it but lots of people do (and they actually need it) and we shouldnt stop that.

I try not to give my children any meds. We just don't know what the affects will be 20 years from now.
