hmm....well, I certainly didn't intend to play a victim-card, I was speaking out of my own observation and experience with people. Most people I know who aren't Christians have judgments and dislikes towards Christians because of bad experiences they have had with them or stereotypes they have bought into. This is simply my personal observation. This forum displayed that truth in my opinion. I wasn't trying to make anyone feel sorry for Christians. On the contrary, Christianity tends to grow under persecution; for example, the underground church in China.

I am a Christian, and I apologize on behalf of those who have "condemned you" or made you feel like you are evil for being interested in these books or movies.
I backed up a bit and read some of the more fundamentalist comments on here, and I definitely think they were unnecessary and know where you're coming from.
I can understand also what these people meant in what they were saying, from what I read anyway, but posting their thoughts did a lot more harm than good-esp. those who posted emotional responses along the lines of protecting the innocence of their children.
But also the more I have backed up on this forum, the more I have seen A LOT of aggression towards people voicing their fundamentalist standpoints. Not referring to you btw. And really, they deserve to be treated with respect, otherwise the other point is lost to the one hearing it. All they hear is their own anger, embarissment, and defensiveness in response.

The way things are approached can change everything.

Aqua, Frankly when I saw your post the first time I thought it was funny and it did make me laugh. You do have a good sense of humour you know. But nobody repeats a joke twice and it was only then I realized that you were serious and wanted an answer. Aqua, I gave you what I have to offer and I did take the time to do a little research and I did take the time and thought to write a reply, even though it is not the information you wish. I do have feelings that can be hurt even though I am a Christian. I see hostility towards Christians in your posts, not that there is anything wrong with that, for all I know you have good reason to be. But nobody likes being a target. Maybe if you explained why you have such anger and hostility to Christians, I could answer some of your questions and we could have a debate. But nobody likes being told to "shut up" as you did in another post and nobody likes being called names as I have seen in your other posts to other people. Maybe someone else will answer your questions, but if you wish to continue and debate then I have two ground rules. I want to be treated with respect, I don't wish to be called names, I don't want deragatory remarks like "Hitler" or "Stalin." If you disagree with a point of mine, the ground rule is that you respond to the point, not me. You give your reasons as to why you think it's wrong. The point may be bigotted but you should never say I am bigotted but instead saying the statement is biggoted is fair ball. Secondly it can't take place here and it can't be about this movie or books. I read the books, I do not wish to talk about them. The incidences in the books give me a negative reaction and they are a place I do not wish to be. If you wish to know why, it is because I feel a Satanic influence when I speak about the incidents in the plots of those books. They are my feelings and they are legitimate. So I can't give you what you want. But I believe I treated you with respect, in fact it was a Christian who took some time to do a little research into your problem. And I was the Christian who responded to your post even though the 411 wasn't what you wished, I did give what I have and that's all you can ask from anyone. I did it because I did think your post here was very funny and I thought and still do think you are a nice person. So if you wish to debate to me about Christian issues, I am willing to do so, but not on this board. Here is what I suggest, create a new board with whatever title you feel appropriate. My name is Wesley, I was named after John Wesley and I attend the Methodist branch of the Anglican church that stayed within the church (Anglicans are Episcopalians in the United States). The Wesley brothers were great evangelists and when revolutions and rioting were breaking out all over Europe during the 1840s, where there was turmoil and violence in virtualy every country in Europe, the Wesley brothers started another kind of revolution in England and later America -- a series of spiritual revivals that still go on to this day.
