In honor of the 70th Anniversary of the Hobbit, we the undersigned, would like Peter Jackson, director of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, to return for the filming of The Hobbit.
I am actually shocked that there is the need for discussion on this matter! It is not a question of is the film going to to made, or who should direct it? It is only a question of when is peter jackson going to make it?Â
I love reading the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. I think that Peter Jackson did a great job directing The Lord of the Rings because he stayed true to the story and he was the right man to direct this movie. I think he should direct The Hobbit because he is a great director and he stays true. So please from the bottom of my heart, let Peter Jackson direct The Hobbit.
I have read the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings about 8 times. After watching the 3 Lord of the Rings films, the only one who has the passion and guidance to direct the Hobbit is Peter Jackson. He has so much time spent on the 1st 3 films, he would be the one person who could direct the Hobbit, and stay true to the other movies.
There will be MORE THAN ENOUGH MONEY TO GO AROUND!!!! Please do the right thing for the movie AND the fans by having Peter Jackson direct.Â
I read the hobbit when I was in 6th grade and fell in love with it. I was shocked when I found out that they were going to release The trilogy before the hobbit. Peter Jackson is an amazing director and would really be able to turn the hobbit into a very great classic movie for all to enjoy

For me, the Lord of the Rings movies are still to this very day one of my favorite movies, trilogies, etc. I think filming a Hobbit movie is only natural and right. If you started telling the story about the ring, don't you think you should tell the WHOLE story and tell it properly? I think that would only be fair. Out of the 4 books, 3-Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, The Hobbit has to be my favorite one. It talks about how the ring came into Frodo's possession through Bilbo to begin with. I think that is a major part of the story about the ring. So many characters from the three movies are learned about from Gandalf to Gollum to Lord Sauron. It's the right thing to do. Just do it
i loved lord of the rings tolkin is one of my favorite authors,but the hobbit was my absalute favorite a hobbit movie would be most welcomed by all middle-earth fans........just do it man
I just have to say that if Peter Jackson does not do The Hobbit it will not have the same feeling. Mr. Jackson cared about doing the LOTR and put his all into them. I believe he would do the same for The Hobbit.
Peter Jackson captured Tolkien's world perfectly in "The Lord of The Rings" trilogy. It would be a travesty if he was not allowed to direct "The Hobbit".
Peter Jackson is the only one that can direct that movie...It would be a nonsense put another director to do the job that Peter did so great in the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy...If the put another director, I won´t see it at all.

the man's a genius, not to mention he's the one that already made LOTR. it would only make sense if it were him that made the final (well, technically the first) instalment.

Peter Jackson is the only one to direct this movie at this time. With him comes Fran Walsh and Philippa(sorry if I didn't get the correct spelling) Boyens who were also integral to the success of LOTR because of their sensiblilities. They get what the stories are about and working collaboratively with their wise casting choices really makes for a wonderful movie experience. And I can hardly wait to see The Lovely Bones!
Peter Jackson is a visionary director, and seeing as he wrote, directed and produced the Lord of the Rings trilogy, in a way that made it stand out as three of the most inspirational films of the era, he should be allowed to continue his vision for the benefit of the world.
Only Peter Jackson can do this. LOTR was AMAZING and the Hobbit will be just as good if Mr. Jackson does it. Plus, there are a few scenes in FOTR that take place in the Hobbit (when Bilbo finds the ring). Those scenes in the Hobbit itself would look all wrong if anyone besides Mr. Jackson does it. Also, the action scenes will look really cool. I hope Ian McKellen is still Gandalf. He was amazing too.

 Think how good the battle of the five armies ,smaug the dragon,the spiders of mirkwood and the escape from the misty mountains along with many other parts would be if peter jackson continued his visual recreation of middle earth. I think its too good an oppurtuinity to pass up, hope they can sort out their differences and give the world of cinema goers what they want.

 I would also like to take the time to request that Sir Ian McKellen be cast as Gandalf, as h e created such a wonderful characte r in LOTR.
 WETA Workshop and all of it's subdivisions should also be used, so that we can continue to use the inspirational  New Zealand design team.
