THE JOBS AMERICANS WON'T DOForum Discussion for THE JOBS AMERICANS WON'T DO Submitted by Chris T. on Wed, 10/29/2008 - 20:11
On my road to management, ive cleaned toilets, mopped floors, moved lawns, You name it!!! and i was happy to have every job... Submitted by rosalinda d. on Mon, 10/13/2008 - 16:23
I'm so sick of hearing how Americans wont do the jobs that illegals do! WE WILL! we just dont want to do them for the pay illegals get.Employers know that, thats why Americans dont get the jobs. Its greedy buisness that make it hard for us to get the jobs for a fair wage. These companys would rather hire an illegal for less than min. wage or pay in cash (tax free) than to pay an American a decent wage. At this point there are Americans who would take any job even if the pay was'nt right. Submitted by tom s. on Sun, 07/13/2008 - 17:08

The only reason Americans aren't doing these jobs now is because the market favors paying illegal immigrants MUCH less than the minimum wage. Submitted by Deborah L. on Sat, 04/05/2008 - 16:31
Not to mention, a lot of them make $9.00 an hour, with their food and housing included as a benefit. That comes out to a lot more than $9.00 an hour! However, if you applied for that job speaking only English, then you wouldn't have a chance. Afterall, now it's becoming Bilingual (English/Spanish), or you don't qualify for the job! Submitted by Herb R. on Sat, 03/15/2008 - 04:04
As inviting as it sounds, this is kind of a trick question. I would do those jobs, but i dont want all the Government handouts. Keep the government as far away from me as possible. Submitted by barb d. on Fri, 03/14/2008 - 01:19
I would like to know where the proof came that illegal aliens get these benefits? I would like to research this. T don't think any american would work for the wages that orchards pay these people to pick the crop. We furnish the place for them to stay while they are here, but when the season is over they go home. I feel these people should be legal immigrants and go through the proper channels. There should be laws regarding the taxes, health care, and education if they come here legally. Submitted by ana celia e. on Tue, 04/15/2008 - 03:37
Barb, I know for a fact that illegals get all kinds of assistance, I lived among them! they asked me for help in filling out the paperwork, I even went with one to an attorney to translate, she was suing her former boss! I got medical for my granddaughters and if I made a mistake on my paperwork I had to go in and wait in a long line of what I am sure were illegals! [this is in fresno Ca] and do they have the corner market in suing for injuries! oh yea Americans would work in the orchards if they got section 8 and foodstamps oh don't forget medical! Submitted by Rachel M. on Tue, 03/18/2008 - 21:41
Here is your proof! Ask Any American male or female who has lost their job. Who needs to feed their familys. Who are struggling to survive. Ask them if they would work the orchards with the same wages and benefits. I bet they would jump on it! Submitted by walter m. on Tue, 03/18/2008 - 20:59

These people are making less money than an american would do the work for. How will we get our orchards picked or the crops in the fields brought in? I think these people should have to apply for citizenship and go through the proper channels. How did you find out the information on the benefits illegal aliens receive while they are working? I would like to have this proof. Thank you very much. Submitted by walter m. on Tue, 03/18/2008 - 21:23

I've never done this before, but I needed a place to vent, so here goes... I am a third generation craftsman. I have worked in the Florida construction industry fot now 28 years. Over the last two decades, I have watched as immigrants from Mexico have replaced other professional craftsmen such as myself. My son and I completed a project just before Christmas and have driven thousands of miles seeking a new project. Unfortunately, with the downturn in our economy, projects are scarce. Everywhere we go, we see the same thing. Projects are staffed with a seemingly exclusive 'guestworker' crew. When we ask to apply for work for which we are fully licensed, insured, completely equipped, and supremely qualified, we are turned away. I might understand if we were given the opportunity to discuss payscale, and then turned away for being too expensive, but we aren't even given that opportunity. Last week we visited a project, with the same results. As we returned to our truck to continue our search we listened in disgust as these guestworkers lined the rooftop and laughed and yelled 'NO TRABAJO AQUI PUTOS!!!' Well....So to make a long story short- eviction proceedings have begun, my electricity should be turned off anyday now, and the company that holds the note on our truck has threatened reposession for a couple of weeks now... What might become of my family I'm afraid to guess. The other night I visited a SuperWalmart and was SHOCKED to see an army of Mexican shoppers with one and two carts apeice piled high with groceries. As I was leaving the store I noticed that one of these shoppers was paying for his haul with a government issued debit card.... WTF??? Are these guys allowed to come and steal my job, laugh at my disfortune, and buy his food with benefits to which I am not entitled? I called my congressional representative, Adam Putnam, seeking some advice or maybe even just a few kind words of encouragement, but have received no reply... I thought our government was there to help, and protect us... If any other nation sent to our shores an occupying force numbering in the tens of millions would our government protect us? What if these invaders were to steal away the jobs of lawyers, judges, or dare I say Congressmen and women? The notion may seem far fetched, but should things continue as it has, the idea is really not so farfetched at all... I know I'll probably be called a hater, but nothing could be further from the truth. I admire their courage and have often wondered if faced with the same circumstances if I'd have the guts to do as they have so bravely done. But, this is the land of my birth...God save America! and maybe save my family...please... Submitted by rosalinda d. on Mon, 10/13/2008 - 16:48
I will be praying for you and your family ED. I also will send your story to my local newspaper and anywhere else I can think of. Of course the goverment should hear your story, I hope they do. I promise to tell as many people I can about your plight. I have always been proud to be an American, but its getting pretty darn tough these days. Submitted by Rene T. on Sat, 03/15/2008 - 20:14
Instead of getting mad at men who travelled thousands of miles to get jobs and support their families, why not utilize your camera on your cell phone and let INS bust the onpanies that are utilizing illegals? They are the ones taking you jobs away. They have to prove that there are no Americans to take those jobs before they can use guest workers. Get your name and your son's name on every county unemployment board within a couple hundred miles (by Internet) and then when you see guest workers you can make sure these fat cats get nailed. I pray that you will be able to find work. Peace. Submitted by barb d. on Fri, 03/14/2008 - 01:25
I truly did not know these things were taking place. As far as our govt. helping us, that is a joke! Our own elected officials have sold us out and they don't give a darn about us. I hope that you find work. Please continue to get hold of your congressional representative. Keep trying. Do not give up. Bombard the office with calls, letters, and e-mails. Good luck!
