Description:

Project Recycle Me is now The Responsible Initiative

Wouldn't it be nice to walk up to the garbage cans at your fast food restaurants and see a recycling bin instead? I need everyone's help on this one. I think together can bring about huge change with this petition.

I want to petition fast food companies across the country and then across the globe to provide recycling opportunities, veracomposting and 100% biodegradeable or compostable packaging materials in all of their restaurants.

Think of the waste associated with fast food (cup/lid/straw/straw wrapper/napkins/wrapper for food/boxes for food/bags for food). All of which are beyond necessary comforts and simply put in place for convenience. These conveniences are part of our biggest problem (Especially in America) it's simply a waste of our precious resources. This is not about Global Warming this is about sustainability. We are living on Planet Earth in a manner she cannot sustain for long. How are we going to make changes to make better use of our resources? I think this is a great starter! Please help me in this important campaign and sign this petition. Tell fast food businessto provide recycling and veracomposting in all of their facilites. In addition tell them you want their pachaginf products to be composed of 100% biodegradeable or compostable materials. Thank you all for your help and please feel free to download a print copy of this petition and circulate it in your community and send a copy to myself with geographic information such as Country/State. I really need all the help I can get on this one! Help bring about real change please help me with this campaign. All suggestions/questions/comments/and signatures are greatly appreciated!

we HAVE TO SIGN THIS!!!
wowza, Change season really started with Obama!!!
god bless America :)

Oppppssss....how did Obama fit into this thread? Vancouer Washington 4th Plain Blvd. Burgerville Fast Food resturant has recycle bins....3 of them for your convienence. They look pretty much ingored when i am in there......but they are there....Burgerville was started by some good ole Hippie types and is an excellent example of what capitalism can be in a tree hugging enviornment. Obama, in the end the Republicans will find that he wasan't as bad as they thought and the Dems will be disallusioned that he spent the whole term talking and smiling with the same content as the campaign trail held and accomplished nothing.
So lets leave this thread to the intended purpose which is a more Green and polution free world. The forcing of the Mcdonalds of the world to put in recycle opportunities for the public. 'Cause if you place it they will recycle it." at least a few will and it will also generate more jobs spuring economic growth in the industry.

look people, we are seriously destroying our world. recycling WILL prevent us from living on the moon or underground. the govermentment has to do something! and this is really a good idea. put recycling bin all over the place.

I REALLY WISH THAT THERE WERE RECYCLING-BINS EVERYWHERE, maybe then the place would clean up

i agree

My College Campus Recycles they have them ALL over school. I think every resturant should have recycle bin. We save more of our earth and don't make more land fills.

100% with you!

I want a recycling bin at Starbucks. Their plastic cups and water bottles can be recycled but there is no recycling bin in the stores.

They already have recycle bins. They're called trash containers

what a great idea!!!!!

My suburb makes me recycle so we should make the big offenders do the same!

We want Midnight Sun!!!!!

Allready the earth start the revenge. We are responsible. We push her to do this,to be hard to us because we have no respect what the earth giving to us. If we realising what we are doing to the earth as human, I thing is not too late. At list we can try to calm down our earth.

We all must be aware that the world is finite. We should protect what is left of it. Let's recycle!!

when I look at the litter on the streets, mostly what I see is Mc Donalds, and Burger King trash! Cups, and paper, and straws thrown out of the windows of people that eat like this! Not only does it ruin our environment, but it ruins the health of birds and draws misquitos and animals that in return, turned into road kill! Not only would this be a great idea, but if these fast food companies used a little of their money to put up recycle bins on a few street corners, not only is this a tax right off, but it would be an investment and an honorable thing to do.Since its obvious that it's their trash thats on the streets. maybe they could change the way others think and they could be able to show off their Golden arches and earn their Golden crowns!

This is a universal problem for all to attack. However, step back and take a look at your statement and get a mental image of the people whom are putting the trash in the streets. These are the same people that will sabotage the efforts by contaminating the bins. Their idea of recycling is to throw it down where they are done with it and it is rycylced by the street sweeper. I like the idea of the big guys putting in recycle opportunities but that dosen't mean all will use it. In Portland (a very green tree hugging city) the biggest eye sores are the bus stops and transit centers and for blocks around each one. My recycle efforts in my company have been going on since 1992 and am in the range of 87% green right now. I have experienced every type of lazyness you can find. I have just gone on a major hiring binge and trippled my work force. My parking lot now has been transformed from a pristine treed park like setting to a parking lot with trees and trash blowing around. My entrance looks like an ash tray from the smokers who can't seem to use the 5 recepticals put there for their convienience. I was appauled last weekend when I looked in my paper recylce compilation bin. It was filled with every type of gargae you can throw away. Of course the recyclers refuse to take that. Good luck on your efforts but remember the recycle bin is only the first small step...and it is a small step but a good step.

good idea but i think slowly is the way - let's start by just having a bin to recycle the bags and the cups for example - my fear being that despite what i would do personally i doubt i'd see the majority of people in macdonalds ect standing for those precious 30 seconds to sort out their own rubbish into separate bins... you may need to make sure they dump the waste food in one place then all the litter in another and pay someone (handsomely) to sort it through.... fingers crossed for any improvement tho - any step is a step in the right direction!!!!!!!!!!

Let's all of us recycle.....even fast food restaurants! This alone would do wonders for our enviroment. I urge everyone to get involved in ALL recycling programs!

EVERYBODY should RECYLCE!
