Description:

Project Recycle Me is now The Responsible Initiative

Wouldn't it be nice to walk up to the garbage cans at your fast food restaurants and see a recycling bin instead? I need everyone's help on this one. I think together can bring about huge change with this petition.

I want to petition fast food companies across the country and then across the globe to provide recycling opportunities, veracomposting and 100% biodegradeable or compostable packaging materials in all of their restaurants.

Think of the waste associated with fast food (cup/lid/straw/straw wrapper/napkins/wrapper for food/boxes for food/bags for food). All of which are beyond necessary comforts and simply put in place for convenience. These conveniences are part of our biggest problem (Especially in America) it's simply a waste of our precious resources. This is not about Global Warming this is about sustainability. We are living on Planet Earth in a manner she cannot sustain for long. How are we going to make changes to make better use of our resources? I think this is a great starter! Please help me in this important campaign and sign this petition. Tell fast food businessto provide recycling and veracomposting in all of their facilites. In addition tell them you want their pachaginf products to be composed of 100% biodegradeable or compostable materials. Thank you all for your help and please feel free to download a print copy of this petition and circulate it in your community and send a copy to myself with geographic information such as Country/State. I really need all the help I can get on this one! Help bring about real change please help me with this campaign. All suggestions/questions/comments/and signatures are greatly appreciated!

lets all do our part for the future generations and help mother earth live longer cleaner and greener ..anthony rubio

i agree it was horrible what they did but i NEED to know what happens with renesmee and jacob!

Excellent Idea.
One planet.
These greedy multi-nationals need to be held to account for the damage they do to our planet and our health.

I agree... we should all try to protect mother earth & go green as much as possible!!

There's no excuse for not recycling! Shame on you fast food restaurants. If we can do it at home then so can you do it in your restaurants.

Save mother earth!!!!!!!

I am in total agreement. It's a very good idea.

I feel we should start a movement to ban these cancer causing establishments....recycle their food? let us do this.....turn every fast food establishment into a home for homeless people...or a shelter for battered women...or a free clinic for those who cannot afford medical treatment.

This is an awesome Idea and I know it will work.

This might actually work! At least I hope it does.

Wow, this is such a great idea! I really hope it works.

Excellent idea well done Rebecca.

I am all for recycling the restaurants in my small town of Liverpool nova Scotia Canada all recycle, also all though retail and doctor offices, schools, etc all recycle.
So I agree that Macdonalds should recycle where they don ot all ready do so.

I'm from Prague (Czech republic) and there is a lot of litter on streets from people and fastfoods like McDonald and KFC is doing this worse.

I saw a documentary about McDonald and I'm shocked about the "mountain" of garbage (almost paper) that is cumulated near the back door of every Mc point...let's say stop to all this "dirty story"!

all i have to say is lets save this world recycle i do alot of traveling around the world and i strongly belive it is worth saving so lets all do our share and recycle please ,,,,,anthony rubio (agt services)

Show us that you care or at least pretend you do.

make a better world

I think that every package should have a recycle symbol and that every where we eat should have recycle bins. It helps elivate trash and saves the enviorment. We do our part to recycle, because my son wants to save the polar bears!

good idea >> let us help and make it easy>>

good idea let start it>><<

If this petition is going to help the world in any way then sure you count me in!!!

i won't sign this petition. severl years ago i started my own recycling program at the place where i worked. it is simply not realistic the way things are right now. several things: 1) companies have to pay a fee to have recycling receptacles placed on their property, and also pay a fee to have it be collected. so most companies, especially non-profits, do not have to resources available to do so, 2) if you decide to do it yourself in lieu of #1 like i did, good luck. you are facing an uphill battle of having people use your containers as garbage, and since you can't deliver your recyclables that way, you will have to sort it out, and since you're most likely the only person who cares enough, you'll be by yourself, and 3) even if #'s 1 and 2 weren't an issue, most PEOPLE, not the fast-food places or companies themselves, CHOOSE to throw things inthe garbage anyway. they will walk right past your clearly marked recycle bins and throw it out. and that's the bottom line. get the census to care, and maybe companies will, and maybe recycling programs may become more readily available and afordable. until then, this lovely democracy we live in condemns us to the general stupidity of the population.

Have you heard of recyclebank.com? I do not work for them but am trying to get them in our town. They are primarily good for towns that have their own garbage collection.

Good starting idea...but an even better idea would be to start (or jump on someone else's wagon) a campaign to encourage American's to stop eating at fast food joints period. This would not only solve the recycling issue (since there would be no waste to recycle) but a TON of other problems as well (i.e. obesity) AND we would all have no other option but to eat real sustenance from our mother earth (after all, there really would be enough for everyone if it wasn't for giant, greedy corporate monsters) that our bodies need in order to fully function to our highest potential (i.e. fully functioning brain!). But I realize that is a long shot so the recycling bins idea is a good start. Although I don't think it will be as simple as signing a petition, I do commend you for your conscientious efforts!

Time to do our part to save the earth
It only makes sense

recyyyclllleeeeeeeeee

In the next few years, there will be nothing from which to make anything new to recycle! So I say: recycle now and save the planet!!

Sounds like a plan to me. Good thinking Rebbeca.

It's time to go green!!! You have my full support!
