At the Dutchess County Fair there used to be tigers that u could take your photo with and pet under supervision of the tigers' caretakers. Note: They were not in cages, but were well taken care of. Now, however, when my family and I went to the Dutchess County Fair this year, there was but one lonely tiger. It was in a small cage all by itself with no other tigers for companionship. There was no sign of it natural enviroment in his/her cage - just dirt. There was not even any food or water. The large cat the picture of a miserable animal undergoing animal abuse.
To the point.... We the undersigned demand that this happen no more. To be specific, we demand the following:
- Animals being displayed shall be kept under supervision by a caretaker.
- They, if possible, shall be given at least one companion animal to bond with.
- They shall be placed in an exhibit comfortable the animal according to their natural habitat.
- The exhibit shall be large enough for the animal to live comfortably.
- The animal shall be given proper nurishment.
- The caretakers of animals on display shall have a license proving they are capable of taking care of the animal properly.
The following statement shall be put back into action:
