The only group in the U.S., and by extension the western world, who has the ability to greatly effect the economy are the Rich. They are the ones who set the prices and cause the rest of us to run up debt to pay for the goods they selfishly over charge for. How are the poor going to effect the price of goods? They don't have the money to effect the economy.
