Wow Amy, good job on the profiling thing. I guess I am guilty of profiling too. The other day going to work at 2:30 am. Pretty much alone on the road when a car pulled up next to me. A hot looking low-rider with 5 Hispanic males inside. The bass beat of their music vibrated my mirrors and when I glanced over at them, they were all slouched down in their seats looking very tough with their stocking caps pulled to their eyebrows. Three of the 5 were looking at me and I felt very uncomfortable. I guess it was profiling that caused me to be uncomfortable….As the light turned green and they drove side by side with me until I exceeded the speed limit (to a normal speed for that area 42 in a 35 zone) while they stayed at the speed limit. I guess I should have rolled down the window, apologized and explained my uncomfortable feelings and invited them to my house for a barbeque. Now, if I had been a cop and saw these 5 Hispanic males at 2:30 am driving the speed limit in that low rider???? Profiling or not it would have attracted my attention.
For our safety and national security, some profiling is necessary...after all that is how we solve most problems though it is not called profiling. If you find the common denominator to resolve a problem you are guilty of PROFILING.....However all Hispanic males are not bad and neither are all islamic males, though history tells us to be cautious.

Wow Amy, good job on the profiling thing. I guess I am guilty of profiling too. The other day going to work at 2:30 am. Pretty much alone on the road when a car pulled up next to me. A hot looking low-rider with 5 Hispanic males inside. The bass beat of their music vibrated my mirrors and when I glanced over at them, they were all slouched down in their seats looking very tough with their stocking caps pulled to their eyebrows. Three of the 5 were looking at me and I felt very uncomfortable. I guess it was profiling that caused me to be uncomfortable….As the light turned green and they drove side by side with me until I exceeded the speed limit (to a normal speed for that area 42 in a 35 zone) while they stayed at the speed limit. I guess I should have rolled down the window, apologized and explained my uncomfortable feelings and invited them to my house for a barbeque. Now, if I had been a cop and saw these 5 Hispanic males at 2:30 am driving the speed limit in that low rider???? Profiling or not it would have attracted my attention.
For our safety and national security, some profiling is necessary...after all that is how we solve most problems though it is not called profiling. If you find the common denominator to resolve a problem you are guilty of PROFILING.....However all Hispanic males are not bad and neither are all islamic males, though history tells us to be cautious.
