Who should Buffy choose?6190 Votes
Description:Issue:    Alright I made a campaign a few weeks ago hoping to get people behind a Buffy movie. I have been very pleased with the amount of new members and their comments. In thinking about a possible new movie one question keeps coming up. Should Buffy ultimately end up with Angel or Spike? Belief:           I believe that if they do make a Whedonverse movie to tie up the loose ends of the plots of Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, that Buffy should choose once and for all which vampire she loves the most.            For anyone who isn’t familiar with this love triangle here is the most objective synopsis I can give. Angel was Buffy’s first love. He was her guide and protector in Sunny Dale until they had sex and he lost his soul turning into the evil Angelus. Then he tormented her for a season until he got his soul back just before she had to send him too hell. He, of course, got out of hell but had to bail because he got his own series set in Los Angeles. In one of the early episodes of Angel he gets some demon blood in a cut on his hand and is turned human. Buffy happens to be in Los Angeles at the time and it looks like they can now be together because his curse is truly lifted. Unfortunately, he is a champion that knows his job is not yet complete so he goes to an oracle that reverses time and Buffy has no knowledge of the one amazing day they had together.   In one of the final episodes of Buffy she does insinuate that they could be together someday.            Spike arrived on the scene in the season two premiere of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He looks and talks like Billy Idol and has very heavy influence from Luke Perry’s character, Pike, in the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie starring Kristi Swanson. His character was actually on the show much longer than Angel’s though evil for much longer. In season 4 the military puts a chip in his head that shocks him if he tries to hurt humans. He then discovers he can hurt Demons and becomes a pseudo good guy at the same time falling in love with Buffy even though he kind hates her too. At the end of season six he goes to some sort of demon shaman and goes through trials and torture to get his soul back. He and Buffy also had tons of sex because Spike was all about her and she was kind of tweaked out on account of the fact that she died went to heaven and was ripped back to earth by a magic spell. But that is another story.            So Whedon tried to tie this up by having Spike and Angel go to Italy only to find that Buffy was dating some immortal guy called “the immortal.â€Â I personally thought this was lame because you don’t see Buffy. I think Sara Michelle Gellar had other obligations at the time.            So I think the fans should decide. If you think Buffy should be with her first love and you still remember that song that they used to play when they were together then vote for the Vampire with a soul who helps the helpless Angel. If you feel that Buffy and Spike’s relationship was better developed in the plot and that he was more true to her because he sought out his soul and ended up later sacrificing himself to save the world then vote for the witty British rock star Vamp William the Bloody, aka Spike. No! Neither! She loves them both different, but the same! Spike will always do what Buffy needs him to, and Angel will always be there to support her. They are best friends! They broke up. Spike is her equal, with his soul it's all he needs.

Joe Jonas Lover hi, ya um....i don't really watch buffy the vampire slayer.....yet...we have all the seasons and we're gonna start watching them soon. but from what you said, i voted for spike and now i really want to watch buffy....thanx!!!!!
hey i love joe jonas 2 an i think you will really like buffy the vampire slayer it is the best show ever!!! but if you really get into spike you need to watch him in angel season 5 when he comes back from the dead
i think buffy and spike should get togther because spike went to get his soul back for her and i think that is so sweet!! plus spike would do anything for buffy he even died to save her life and the rest of the slayers
I reckon Angel would give up Buffy and let Spike have her. Angel still can't be in a relationship with her. He would loose his soul. Spike on the other hand won't. Plus Spike and Buffy had a really good relationship before he died to save Buffy. Angel on the otherhand lost that spark that he and Buffy used to have when she visited him. He kind of snobbed her off.
Don't get me wrong, i would love to see Buffy and Angel too finally get to be in love without the grr factor for Angel. But it just isn't realistic. It can't happen. Joss made that obvious even though it hurt fans. So if a movie is made it would have to be Spike, it all adds up.
Okay, so I don't think Buffy really wants a normal relationship. She wants a strong man who can fight by her side, make her feel protected, and give her a little playful competition. She tried it with a normal guy (Riley) and she just flat out lost the attraction.
Angel and her were really sweet...when she was like 15, but Buffy grew up, and if you see the episodes of Angel with them together, they just don't have the on screen chemistry anymore. That and Angel is annoying. He is always playing the martyr. You have to watch that episode of Angel where he had the change to be human but GAVE IT UP because he wanted Buffy to have a normal life? Him being human would give her that normal life, right? But no, then he wanted to be able to protect Buffy? WRONG, he just wants to be the tortured hero, in my opinion. I don't think he wants a normal relationship at all.
Spike on the other hand REALLY loves Buffy. He loved her when he didn't even have a soul (in a really ronchy, rapist way) but he SAUGHT out his soul so he could be the man Buffy deserved. Also, Buffy and Spike are hot together! They can fight side by side, but Spike doesn't underestimate Buffy's power and lets her do what she does best and loves to do, SLAYING. He helps her instead of always trying to "protect her". He understands her better than anyone else, and he always has her back.
What I don't get is, isn't Spike dead? Ok, I guess that doesn't really matter in Buffy. I think that Buffy should end up with Spike for sure (and if you haven't watched the last 3 seasons you probably wouldn't understand why, I know I didn't until I watched them on DVD).
Ok, just found out that Spike came back in the last season of Angel. All the better!
such a hard one, the old romantic in me says angel, but spike tried so hard to get buffy and it was so sweet

I love Angel and Spike but I believe that Buffy should be with neither of them! I think to have them end up together will ruin the whole point of the love triangle.
I think Buffy should not be shown choosing one or the other but being friends with Spike and always loving Angel. It's a love that can never be... a forbidden love. To give it up to be with Spike is just stupid, and to make it so she can be with Angel will ruin everything. Maybe they could make it a twist with the movie where she becomes a vampire with a sould her self, or spike dies saving her and that way she'll always have a part of him but the potential for them to get together is not happening. I don't know but if they ever do a movie it needs to be something different and edgy because as someone already stated... the people who watched buffy and angel are now young adults in their mid 20's!

angel is just a big drama queen.
in the first few seasons everythings so romantic and nice but after things got complicated, their relationship seems very cheesy. Spike is the way to go. He's so passionate and sexy and fun. Angel sits in the dark. He calls her and hangs up. He's got too many issues to sustain a proper relationship.
i think angel. definitely. he may have gone on living his life, but only because buffy needed to find herself...
i think buffy knew what she wanted in her youth. then when she was hurt, lost herself, found death and ugliness and she thought she became someone else. she lost the clarity you have when you're tainted by life's ills. and from the comics, it seems like she's still looking.
i think when she's ready, buffy and angel will be back together. she just needs time to find her way back to him. they'll have that normal life she's always looked for and it'll be with him that she has it.
it may seem hoakey, but i'm tired of the ugliness of real relationships. why can't we have the fairy tale ending to a gritty fairytale that changed our lives? we may not have the fairy tale life, so why not let our favorite fairy tale heroine have one?
It's true. Her heart was so damaged after Angel left so she was not able to love again.She tried with Riley but, it was nothing there 4 him. But,we have to remember that the only person who made her feel again was Spike. First she feel hate,than gratitude(when he keeped the secret about her sister and guarding her). After, she trusted him enough to tell him everything, things she didn't tell anyone else.Despite all she belived in,she had sex with him and he gived her passion. In the last season he was her's ally and she was he's. He was a good man,cause he had he's soul back and she started to respect him(she never did this b4)and protect him.
It's true, Angel smashed her heart but Spike was the one who heal it so she can love again. And i think she did. Spike was in her heart and when she said she loved him,it was true. He healed her heart and she made him a better man(the best).
personally, i don't think either of them deserves buffy's love, because even though they both risked their lives for her i think she should be with xander, because, like it or not, they have both just lost the love of their lives and will need to be comforted by each other. so, good luck.

Niether. The events at the end of Angel make it impossible for either of them to get her. The only possible way would be for the movie to be about the war for Los Angeles. (Buffy and the newly formed 'legion of slayers' travels to Los Angeles with just about every good guy left alive to stem the tide of evil.)

Buffy was just using Spike for sex. Buffy and Angel had that star-crossed lovers thing going on and it was also evident that in the last episode of Buffy that they both still love each other... so I would have to say Angel- hands down.
I never really likes Angel....

well its complicated bc angel is greAT BUt spike was great too at the ned, honestly the only reason why i wouldnt want her wit angel is bc of the hole sex thing it would never work after about two years or so they would go crazy lol, but really either is good , they both shared a good n big part in the show
