Who should Buffy choose?6190 Votes
Description:Issue:    Alright I made a campaign a few weeks ago hoping to get people behind a Buffy movie. I have been very pleased with the amount of new members and their comments. In thinking about a possible new movie one question keeps coming up. Should Buffy ultimately end up with Angel or Spike? Belief:           I believe that if they do make a Whedonverse movie to tie up the loose ends of the plots of Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, that Buffy should choose once and for all which vampire she loves the most.            For anyone who isn’t familiar with this love triangle here is the most objective synopsis I can give. Angel was Buffy’s first love. He was her guide and protector in Sunny Dale until they had sex and he lost his soul turning into the evil Angelus. Then he tormented her for a season until he got his soul back just before she had to send him too hell. He, of course, got out of hell but had to bail because he got his own series set in Los Angeles. In one of the early episodes of Angel he gets some demon blood in a cut on his hand and is turned human. Buffy happens to be in Los Angeles at the time and it looks like they can now be together because his curse is truly lifted. Unfortunately, he is a champion that knows his job is not yet complete so he goes to an oracle that reverses time and Buffy has no knowledge of the one amazing day they had together.   In one of the final episodes of Buffy she does insinuate that they could be together someday.            Spike arrived on the scene in the season two premiere of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He looks and talks like Billy Idol and has very heavy influence from Luke Perry’s character, Pike, in the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie starring Kristi Swanson. His character was actually on the show much longer than Angel’s though evil for much longer. In season 4 the military puts a chip in his head that shocks him if he tries to hurt humans. He then discovers he can hurt Demons and becomes a pseudo good guy at the same time falling in love with Buffy even though he kind hates her too. At the end of season six he goes to some sort of demon shaman and goes through trials and torture to get his soul back. He and Buffy also had tons of sex because Spike was all about her and she was kind of tweaked out on account of the fact that she died went to heaven and was ripped back to earth by a magic spell. But that is another story.            So Whedon tried to tie this up by having Spike and Angel go to Italy only to find that Buffy was dating some immortal guy called “the immortal.â€Â I personally thought this was lame because you don’t see Buffy. I think Sara Michelle Gellar had other obligations at the time.            So I think the fans should decide. If you think Buffy should be with her first love and you still remember that song that they used to play when they were together then vote for the Vampire with a soul who helps the helpless Angel. If you feel that Buffy and Spike’s relationship was better developed in the plot and that he was more true to her because he sought out his soul and ended up later sacrificing himself to save the world then vote for the witty British rock star Vamp William the Bloody, aka Spike. I titally agree with you.He had so many chanses to be with her and her choose not to be.I thinck that at the end they both understood that they aren't meet to be together.As gor Buffy and Spike they are really meant to be together.And even thougth Buffy thinck Spike is dead I still belive that some day,somehow they will find theyere way back together.The people who are destined to be together always finds theyre way back.And Buffy and Spike are destined to be together.For that I am sure.
Buffy should definitely be with Angel. They never got much of a chance. She was young. He didn't yet understand his purpose. He only knew that he loved her so much he had to protect her... Her relationship with Spike was dangerous. Buffy was confused and kind of lost her way. He was there for her and helped her through- good for him. But he's simply not her soulmate. And Cordelia and Angel? No. They need to create a completely different character who is made for her. Sorry, not a fan of hers. David and Charisma didn't have the chemistry for it anyway. It would definitely be a forced connection.
Angel has moved on and not just with Cordelia he had a baby(Connor)with Darla,also how many chances does Angel need?he kissed her in sseason episode Angel then tells her they cant be together,then hegets with her in season 2 (by the way if it wasnt for Willow yelling at Angel he would have never even asked Buffy out)Angel gets with Buffy then turns into Angelous then she has to kill him,season 3 he comes back(cause the first evil sends him back)gets with Buffy only to dump her and run off to LA,then season 1 Angel episode I will remember Angel turns human only to give it up to so called help Buffy but he didnt move to Sunnydale to help her(Spike helped her tho)and she died,so please tell me how many chances doe he need?then Buffy comes back from Heaven and Angel still dont come to help her,oh he called her wow and when she went to see him if he was her soulmate why didnt he see she needed some one?to help her through the transition of being dead and then alive again?Buffy was in real pain over the whole coming back from the dead and Angel never once came to help where the hell was he if he loved her like a soulmate he would have came back to help hertheres a chance he screwed up to,oh and heres the real question if Angel loved Buffy like a soulmate why didnt he go out and get a real soul like Spike did????and why didnt he move back to Sunnydale to be with Buffy when she needed him the most????because he moved on to Darla,Cordelia,So believe me Angel had tons of chances and you wanna know the great part is when Angel did return fianally return to help Buffy she turned him away for once and defended Spike to him (that was great)so really Buffy moved on to Spike,if Buffy still loved Angel like she did when she was a teenager Buffy would have wanted him to stay,but Buffy realalized Angel left her,where Spike has been there trying to prove his love for her,and Buffy knows Spike loved her and she loved Spike,also if Buffy loved Angel why didnt she move to LA to be with him after the closing of the Hellmouth?????????oh well i believe she already chose when she went home to him and sent Angel away,so Spike and Bufyy FOREVER!!!!!!!
He didn't YET understand his purpose? He was 241 years old,he was not mature? They had a chance but, he made a big mistake,he left her.
Yup, he hadn't yet understood his purpose... Hence- the show Angel... Some ppl it just takes longer than others.. And not to beat a dead horse, but-- relationships are complicated. Yeah yeah, "If two people want to be together, why don't they just get together?" I mean, what about Romeo and Juliet, and how that turned out? Nothing (for whatever reason) about love is easy. Angel loved Buffy so much he let her go. I mean, it ticked me off too b/c obviously she was in love with him and wanted it to work and didn't care about the "disadvantages". But- Joss Whedon wanted him in L.A. for his own series and so- he left. And Buffy needed the chance to grow. When you're young and you have that one person that you've dated, you don't get the chance to become who you really are.. You can't evolve. Trust me, I know... Sometimes it's for the better and sometimes-- well, at least you just get the chance to live and experience things and gain an understanding of why things work the way that they do. In a perfect world, imaginary or not, Angel and Buffy would have stayed together forever. In a world where people need to grow up and experience life and pain and ups and down and change- you have heart ache... Since each other- and since Angel had gotten his soul back - they both lost their innocence (yes, I realize Angel is a vampire and lost his innonce earlier on when he was mortal)- but once he got his soul back there was an innocence about him again- and it was lost to Darla. Buffy slept with Parker. And then got into relationships with Riley and against her will- or will power I suppose- with Spike. And yeah, after all she'd been through with Spike- when he's killing himself to save the world, yeah- you'd hope she'd be there for him... Lots of reasons why the show was written the way that it was and why for example SMG didn't appear in the 100th episode of Angel like she was supposed to to help him get back on track, and then it was rewritten for Cordelia... Cordelia was kind of just- there. He cared for her. It grew into something a little stronger. But still not what he had for Buffy... If anyone has ever been in complicated relationships and loved someone and had been in love with someone and understood all of those exra circumstances- umm, such as Cordelia being in L.A. and Buffy being in Sunnydale... You do get lonely... Just saying. Everyone has their opinion. :) No one is going to change my mind about Buffy and Angel. I tell ya, if they did make a movie though- it would break my heart for her to end up with anyone else... But kudos to all BTVS and Angel fans who care one way or the other. :)
I think she should choose spike. Angel was given his soul against his will so he was forced to be a better man. Spike realized he wanted to be a better man so he sought out and fought for his soul. Then he sacrifices himself to save the world. He deserves to win her heart.

She should definatly choose Spike.He whould anything for her andlovs her no mater what.Buffy and Angel remainds me fo Cole and Phoobe.Phoobe thougth that Cole was the love of her life but her soulmate and true love was Coop.Buffy thougth that Angel was the love of her life but in the end I thinck she understood that Spike was her true love and that's why she spent her maybe last nigths with Spaik.they are just ment to be together.
With this its hard. I really think she should choose spike. For one she does not have to worry about him going all wild because his soul is there to stay. I know Angel was her first love but when u think about it they would not be able to have life because on small moment of happiness Angel turns to Angelus and is on a killing spry. But spike really showed and lot for Buffy and i know for sure she does love him. They have more of a life togeather.
ok first of all... F*** soldier boy Riley! out of angel or spike? i DEFINITLY choose spike. obviously there was so much chemistry. sure she hated him but you see her affection towards him in season 7 even after angel shows up.. nevermind that kiss. SPUFFY FOREVER!!!
ROFL!!!!!!!!!!! That how I feel about Captain Cardboard too!!!!!!!!!!! And not to mention the kiss with Angel was the lousiest, OMG why did I just kiss him, Kiss I've ever seen!!!!!!!!!!
oh and also.. angel is NOTHING compared to spike. buffy's whole hangup with spike was because he had no soul. well, he eventually gets one. angel was cursed with a soul and could lose it at any chance of happiness.. aka buffy. spike fought and earned for his soul.. for buffy. now who comes out the winner? spike does.. in my book anyways.
I loved Spike, but Buffy needs to be with Angel. He was her true love!

I've never read the comics but I think Buffy should be with the BIG BAD; "SPIKE" . No one will ever ,ever love Buffy the way Spike does. Yes Angel was her first love and yes Angel did love Buffy BUT Angel never got deep into her soul like Spike did. Spike knew Buffy in a way that Angel could never reach and because of that Buffy could never be completly satisfied with Angel.
I love both the guys.Angel because he has been her first love.I think she should be with angel.The chemistry is still there from the last episode.I also love spike toward the end of season 7.He loves her also.It's hard to choose.Can't she choose both:)
Angel 4 SURE!!!!! I stopped watching after season 3 when Angel left. And I didn't watch either show after that. I told myself if in the end she ends up with Angel I'll buy and watch all Angel and Buffy DVD'S until then I'm steering clear of the two. Although I sometimes read up on the commics to see if they have ended up already. That break-up was a b*tch to go through!!!

Angel was her first love and first love come and most of the time go. So defently Spike, not to mention Spike loved Buffy when he was evil so that leads me to believe that the man and the demon loved Buffy were as Angels demon did not. Also not to mention evil Spike got his soul for Buffy where as Angelus would have never done that and would of probably done things beyond attempting to rape her.
Pluse on top of every thing else Spike loved buffy more and would have done anything for her, I truly thank she relized how much in the end and finally let her guard down and let him in.
Oh yah and for those of you that said Riely WTF is your malfunction! Did we not watch the same show. He left her and he did it when she needed him the most! With his wo is me crap! Her Mom had a brain tumor for god sake what and she's supposed to be all, "oh Rielly I love you," and put all time and effort into him. No I don't think so. He was not a good man and he was more selfish than anyone on that show and he could never hanndle that buffy was stronger than him.

It has to be Angel..there's not even a doubt about this. It's the classic Ross and Rachael scenario all over again, it's what has to be for everything to feel right. I mean I'm a huge Spike fan and all I think the guy is way more bad ass than Angel, but if they ever do a movie and F this one up it will feel like crap just when Dawson's Creek ended the show with Joey choosing Pace instead of Dawson (sorry for throwing in a Dawson's Creek reference in there but if your a Buffy fan then you know the WB era i'm talking about).
Angel moved on to Cordelia did you see the Angel series?Also Spike and Buffy are ment to be get real Spike has been there since season 2,Also Buffy and Spike went from Enemys to lovers to friends to soul mates,where was Angel all this time?I will tell you in LA thats where he was with Darla,Cordelia,Nina,ect and also Angel had a baby with Darla(Connor)so i really dont think Angel ever gave Buffy a single thought when he was with Darla,My point is Angel is a Father now and has sooo moved on he is over Buffy,Spike on the other hand has been there through the end,Spike has helped protect Buffy and her friend,family and the world,and Spike changed his whole existance and life to be with Buffy,Spike loves Buffy more than anything even his own life, Now tell me why Buffy should give up some one whos been there for her even when every one gave up on her and she was at the point of giving up again Spike shows up and gives her the will,strenght to go on,Why should Buffy choose her High School Boy Crush when shes a Woman now and the only one there to help her was Spike(between Spike or Angel)? Also if you rewatch the episodes again you would see Spike and Buffy are the real true Soulmates not Angel hes Cordelias soulmate not Buffys,i hope they bring Cordelia back for Angel so he has some one but Buffy shouldnt have to go back to the past cause honestly Buffy has surpast her High School teen innocent self and turned into a Hell of a Woman Spikes woman,so Buffy and Spike Forever.

4 all Angel's fans. If you see Angel series you'll notice that Angel wasn't so in love with Buffy. He loved her,but he wasn't in love with her. After Will told him Buffy is dead,true,he left LA, but when he came back he was not so downcast. Cordi asked him if he is OK and he answered Yes and that was the problem ,that he is OK after her death. So, he moved on with his life. He didn't go to help Buffy's family or her friends. YESSS he really loved her....
