okay, to everyone who has stated their own opinion, and has reasoning behind it, I thank. I know lots of people who don't like it because they think it's stupid...and none of them have read it. Sure if you don't like it and you've read it. I'm fine with that! I've read so many vampire novels and lots of them state that the act of drinking blood for a vampire makes the hormones react...yah...and lots of vampire authors add that into their story. but some don't, and they put their own view into their writing. I do too...But lots of the time I don't write about vampires. so to Nick A, Cheryl O, Stormwriter S thank you for putting your opinion out. but everyone has a right to write about what they want and to change what they want...even if some people don't agree.

To Cheryl O. ... Yes. Yes. And yes again. All the things I say. And the love thing was done by Abraham Stoker way before this tripe... In fact most vampire stories have an element of romance, the vampiric act of drinking blood itself is meant to be slightly erotic. That is because of Vampires being sinners, they love all sins, including lust. A lot of Authors dislike S. Mayer.

The story is cliche. The character Bella is a damsel in distress and a "poor me" person who makes young girls appear helpless. The books themselves are poorly written in terms of syntax, sentence structure, the basic rules of writing, etc. (Stephen King does NOT like the author of Twilight at all). The stories get WEIRDER as you go along (they get married, Bella gets pregnant, the baby rips at her from the inside...COME ON!!!), and the characters are lame. The whole concept of "real" fictional vampires is that they are dangerous, evil, and NEED to drink human blood. She has turned them into "politically correct" vampires and it's just lame. The most important thing of all though is, this is ficition and too many morons are obsessing over it like it's real, as if no one out there has a real life to live! We all enjoy stories, we like the story of forbidden love, but this is being taken to the extreme by some fans and they need to come back down to Earth. It's become too trendy. Again, the stories are poorly written and frankly are not teaching the young writers of the world how to correctly author a book. I can't believe these were published with such terrible grammar and writing skills. So sad and an utter slap in the face to professional writers who educate themselves in literature and take the time to publish a book correctly.

I don't like it. Because: 1) Yes, it is 'not' about real vampires (I'm aware vampires aren't real and all that, however, she completely squashed their image). She basically made them into the perfect, sparkly bf. Which they are not. They are frightening, very strong, they do not sparkle, they DRINK YOUR BLOOD and they would not make the perfect bf. 2) Writing is horrific. 3) Promotes stalking (and yes girls are literally keeping their windows open so Edward can come ... ) 4) Promotes unhealthy relationships. (I'm all for chivalry but that guy won't let Bella do ANYTHING) 5) Terrible characters. There is no real character development. 6) Bella is basically a Mary-Sue. Yes, I am aware that term is used much too often, but it is true. Everyone bends over backward to do stuff for her while she does nothing for them, When she first comes to Forks all the guys suddenly automatically love her. Except for her over-exaggerated clumsiness and irritating narrative voice, she has no flaws. 7) And so many other reasons I do not have time to type. NOTE: I have plenty of friends who like Twilight and I have no problem with their liking it. Of course I should have no problem with someone liking a book. What I do have a problem with is people over-obsessing and wanting to be with Edward (who does not exist) and jumping on people who don't like Edward the nonexistent Sparklepire and telling said people they should go to hell and other extremely rude and ridiculous things simply because they do not like an author's writing. By the way, not liking a book is NORMAL>
