Sorry, I can not in good conscious support a forum regarding the need for economic development Atlantic Canada if it is going to be used for pro-fur people to post.

To the reader: I started this forum to let people know what was happening in Atlantic Canada and the awful unemployment they have had to face because of the loss of the cod fishery. I had posted the various economic problems Atlantic Canada was having in the issue section. However, no way, no how, do I want my name associated with any post regarding the fur industry. I'm asking that the adminstrators delete this forum. It goes against all my principles. If someone from Atlantic Canada wishes to start their own forum regarding the need for economic development in Atlantic Canada and at the same time thinks the fur industry would serve as a means of growth and jobs, you have my "yes" that I will not post any anti-fur messages on your forum. As for this forum I believe all Canadian fur products should be boycotted.

Allow me to clarify my position...I am not pro-fur. I am not anti-fur. I'm rather indifferent to the whole fur issue. I am, however, anti-ignorance, especially when that ignorance is aimed at my people and my home. You really need to research both sides of the issue before making outrageous claims as to how our seal hunt proceeds.

Sorry I can't in good conscious support a forum regarding if it is going to be pro-fur forum and neither do I want to place my anti-fur views here. Apologies

Baby seals ARE NOT clubbed to death! As I said in your other thread, do your homework...there is no seal pup hunt. NO SEALS are clubbed to death--NONE! It's illegal! Government monitors are always making sure hunters abide by the law. I live in the greatest place on this planet...NEWFOUNDLAND...I know some seal hunters personally, and if they ever read your comments, they'd wonder what the hell you're talking about, cause they dont kill baby seals. Period.

Arrrg. Sorry for the formatting, Apologies. Atlantic Canada is slowly dying and their communities are slowly dying. They need a good long term economic development program. If the fishery hasn't recovered in over ten years now, it is time to consider that maybe it never will. The people who live there need jobs. I believe the Canadian Seal hunt absolutely has to be stopped. But this forum is not about the seal hunt. It's time to face facts. Give Atlantic Canadians sustainable home-grown industries. One community after another is slowly becoming a ghost town. Atlantic Canada is where Canada started and one time Nova Scotia was the economic engine of the country. More importantily it wasn't Ontario that was the industrial centre of Canada a hundred years ago, it was Nova Scotia and New Brusnswick. The potential is there.

yes but the Federal government turned a blind eye to foreign over fishing as they negotiated deals for automotive plants in Central Canada. have you heard of that black stuff we've been pumping up around here lately?
