I want John and Marlena to stay. They are the heart of the show. I am not invested in Melanie or any other young new comer. As talented as Melanie is, I don't want to see her if that mean I can't see the veterns. I want John, Marlena, Bo, Hope, Victor, Stephano, Tony, Anna and then the younger talents such as Sami, Lucus, Nicole, Ej and Phillip. I am 38 and watch everyday as did my grandmother and mother. My husband watches it now as do my 2 teenaged daughters. No young croud is going to be faithful viewrs of any soap so why not give it to the faithful followers who are above 25. DOOL is being drowned and they are loosing the heart of it all by getting rid of John and Marlena.
Get rid of Nicole and that stupid baby pillow. Get rid of Raife. Get rid of annoying Melanie. But, please, please, please DO NOT get rid of John, Marlena or (God forbid) Days of Our Lives.

As far as I am concerned it might as well get cancelled if they fire Drake and Deidra. The next to go will probably be Bo and Hope. They should be getting rid of Stephanie, Melanie, Nick, Daniel and even Nick. Lucas can go as well now that EJ has replaced him in Sami's life. The best storyline lately was the Colleen story when all our veteran actors/actresses got to act together. The writers have missed a big opportunity with Drake and his long time friends by dismissing any scenes. Why haven't shown more Bo and John, or John and Hope, or John and Caroline, John and Steve. They could have and should have written these scenes in. They were all once close and for them all to just Give up on him is ridiculous. Get real Ken, save the vets and get new witers.

I've been watching Days of Our Lives since the beginning and can't imagine not having it. It has good writers and excellent actors and actresses. Marlena & John will be sorly missed. I hope they get to come back, it won't be the same without them.

Oh My to take Days Of Our Lives off the air would be horrible. Days has been on the air for 43 years and I've watched the Hour Soap for 35 Years. Days Of Our Lives is a WOMENS stress remover. U really think we woman need this at this time in our lives. I should hope not. Keep all the people on the show u have on now and please bring Belle & Shawn back on with them. This show needs to keep going. Marlena & John need to stay too. Philip if he wants to leave , then bring the old Philip back to the show. I PRAISE THE LORD THAT THE SHOW MUST GO ON PAST 2011. I have been watching Days since I was 15 years old and I'm 48 now. It would be extremely sad to cancel this soap. I record it every day and when I get home the first thing that I do is watch it. It would break my heart to never be able to see my favorite show ever again.Please don't cancel the show that I absolutely love so much. I hope one day to actually get to meet some of the stars of Days one day if I'm lucky.But please do not cancel Days of our Lives.

It's very frustrating to have watched DOOL for several decades, faithfully taped it every day when I'm at work, bought the products advertised during the show, and then be manhandled and mistreated by the Show. I just don't get it.
Getting rid of the characters and the most skillful, nuanced actors that people like best and that, as so many viewers have said, "anchor the show" and create and sustain viewer loyalty, is not sane.
Mr. Corday, financial slashing and burning make NO sense for DOOL or for any major corporation in the business world if it equates to suicide! Financial tightening must be done much more wisely in ways that secure a QUALITY future whether on NBC or another channel or medium. It should not and does not have to be a suicidal massacre (which is what axing Drake and Deirdre would be.)
Too many new young faces do not induce loyalty. They do generate new, young viewers, but DOOL must also retain its identify and its lifelong fans (who do, by the way, buy the advertiser's products).
DOOL, get John and Marlena back together and back in the storyline, let LOVE anchor the show like it has done over the years, and don't be so quick to screw up characters we love and rely on. There's a misguided idea that we become quickly bored with dedicated, loving couples. Wrong assumption! We want to see them stay lovingly together and go on adventures and face adversity TOGETHER.
Keep Marlena and John; keep Deirdre and Drake. Don't commit suicide. Don't betray us.

i am almost 60 and i use to skip school to watch days, it is my favorite show.
