Only got DAB for this station. An education, and a refuge from all todays crap music. Gone from an average of 2 up to 5 on anorak quiz since unearthing this diamond! Save Our Planet, and then stick it on Freeview too!
I cannot believe that such an individual, UNIQUE radio station will close, The Jazz was a blow, but Planet Rock is GENUINELY something quite special, there's nothing like it in the UK, the content, the interviews, the variety, It really does make one weep for the loss of such a special provision, a station that takes so much care and shows so much passion, it's typical of the British way to allow this to die - flog it, or shut it down and sod the listeners and people who've put so much time and effort into it. DON'T LET IT DIE!!!! Thoughts, best wishes and support from here in Cornwall. XXX
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEEEEEEEASE WILL SOMEONE AGREE TERMS & PURCHASE PLANET ROCK,
THE STATION CAN NOT CLOSE. IT WOULD BE TOO DEVASTING TO LOSS THE ONLY RADIO STATION THAT PLAYS THE BEST SOUNDS, HAS THE BEST DJ's AND IS A LIFE LINE FOR SO MANY - INCLUDING MYSELF.
It was only due to Fish that I heard about the station but I've been listening for a few days now (on the internet as I live in Holland) and so far I've not heard anything I don't like. What a shame if a buyer cannot be found. I've added the banner to my site (www.askew.nl). Nick Askew
This is simply the only radio station in the UK worth listening to.
I grew up with my taste in music being catered for with 1 hour on a Monday Night on Hallam FM, 2 hours on a Friday on Radio 1 and 3 hours ona Saturday also on Radio 1. Without Planet rock it's back to the bad old days with just half a dozen hours a week national radio. Ican't do this just 6 hours a week - I want it all the time!
I wish all at Planet Rock the best - You were the reason I bought a DAB radio in the first place!
Why do Planet Rocks owners want to sell the only real Rock station in the UK, which has listeners all over the world?? Is it that Panet Rock are too good, and they are interfering with the listening figures of other staions which they own? Planet Rock you have and will be making TRUE music listeners very happy for many a year to come.
We in Australia know what a big mistake it is to close something so good down.
I am really surprised a commercial staion exists of this nature.
If you want music I've been hearing on Planet Rock,
it would only be on some obscure community radio station, funded by sponsors & with a membership of locals who really love music, much like the one I voluntarily work for. Not internationally available via the net.
Now if a country of 20,000,000 can do it on a shoe string budget, how come this huge country of the UK
can't keep such a good station going!!!
WAKE UP UK!!! Buy the bloody thing off these losers who don't know a good thing when it's right there in front of YOU!!!!!
From Mark M in Aust.
Every one I know who has purchased a DAB radio is for one thing only 'PLANET ROCK' the only radio station that plays good music, all the other stations just play a variant of each other POP music (you can hear that kind of music anywhere, supermarkets etc).
Please dont switch off the only decent music station in UK.
Gary Banks (Porcupine tree fan)
planet rock is the only dab station worth buying a digital radio for - if it closes there is nowhere to hear real music. I would buy it tomorrow if i had any money.

We have just installed dab radio at are work place. And have just descovered PLANET ROCK, now we hear it might be off air permanent,THIS CANNOT HAPPEN it gets us through the shift. For us this is the only station for real music fans.IF I HAD THE MONEY IN MY POCKET I WOULD BUY IT.Steve B
I am a 52 year old rock fan who started on the road in 1967 when my mum took me to see Jimi Hendrix (thank you mum).
Plamet Rock provides a mix of music that appeals to a wide a range and whenever I turn it it on there is always something that resonates with me and either takes me back or makes me think 'wow that's good, who the hell are they?'
In short-Planet Rock provides exactly what I want and I would hate for it to fall foul of the financial fraternity who are only motivated by the 'bottom line' and how much they will gain by the sale.
Rock on Planet Rock!!
PLease leave it alone !!, without Planet rock I will not want/need or use a radio, it's the ONLY station that caters for Rock fans, It must must must be saved Bob lyford -Smith Bobelpfan
The only station i listen to on my radio in my van/home is Planet Rock! You cant close it down because it will be like shutting all the pubs in the UK......un thinkable!
Planet Rock provides us with the music we really want to hear,Rock music from across the vast range that has been recorded from the 60's onwards.
No other radio stations comes close in allowing people to listen to older classics to allowing new bands to get a hearing across a large spectrum of listeners.
Frankly anyone stupid enough to allow planet rock to close wants his head examining.
It reminds me of the story of the merchant who found the perfect gem and sold everything that he had to possess it.
That gem is Planet Rock, if digital radio is to continue then such station as Planet Rock will keep it going.
Without them goodbye Digital and good riddance to the idiots who cant see Planet Rock for the joy it is.

what is life without PLANET ROCK
Just had a DAB radio for my birthday in Feb and cannot believe they are going to shut Planet Rock, its the only reason I got the radio.
I honestly haven't been this depressed about anything since they closed the Newcastle Mayfair. Planet Rock must keep going!

Rock on Planet Rock!!
The only radio station worth listening to.
I can't understand why they would even think of closing Planet Rock.
First Pandora and now Planet Rock. Please don't make me go back to Virgin Radio!
PLease leave it alone !!, without Planet rock I will not want/need or use a radio, it's the ONLY station that caters for Rock fans, It must must must be saved Bob lyford -Smith Bobelpfan
We just can't let Planet Rock go to "The Great Gig in the Sky"
Like so many others, I have a dab radio because of
Planet Rock.
Long may those essential vibes flow
It's really the only reason to have a digital radio. It is however an extremely good reason to get a digital radio.
The only station i listen to on my radio in my van/home is Planet Rock! You cant close it down because it will be like shutting all the pubs in the UK......un thinkable!
All the best
