![]() Earlier this year, Twentieth Century Fox filled a lawsuit against Warner Brothers claiming that WB does not own the distribution rights to Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' graphic novel "Watchmen" (which is the highest selling graphic novel of all time and has won numerous awards and praise). The movie is directed by Zack Snyder (who also directed "300"). Snyder rushed the first cut of the movie (a three hour first cut) before any legal action took place. Fox wants to halt the release of the movie slated to be released March 2009 and claims they have the rights to make the film dating back to 1991. The judge dismissed WB's request to dismiss the case and it is still ongoing. Fox claims they do not want a cut of the money from the profits, they just want to stop the movie from being released. What do you think? |
if he's directing it LET IT GO!!!!!! ZACH SNYDER IS THE BEST SO LET IT AIR!!!!!!!!
i personally thought it will be a hit,,and i only have seen the poster..and for the record,,last time i see billy cudrup was in Big Fish,,it will be nice to see his face again in a big budget movie
Jesus, warner Bros. really suckz. They archieved the Watchmen till this day and when someone is ready and willing to make the much praised by fans and critics novel come to life.Well... I wa's never a die hard fan of the Watchmen but when i saw the promotional pictures and the shiny HD first trailer i said to myself:That will be a box office success and although they say it won't have that much of action the few (even if it's only 1 or 2) scenes of action will be something out of this world.Seriously, don't be haters(FOX) and let Warner Bros. finish what you said wouldn't be possible.I really love both companies but I may come to hate Fox, even though they put out some great series and movie.Enough said!
Uhmmm... HAVE YOU SEEN THE TRAILER!! To release that phenomenal trailer to the U.S. and say "HAHA YOU CAN'T WATCH IT!" Totally sucks! It's a complete tease. And completely unfair. Release Watchmen!! Find a compromise and release it to the public that is dying and deserves to watch it!
I saw the preview and was looking forward to seeing it. If Fox isn't planning to do anything with it they should let Warner Bros do it. Fox claims to have had more than 15 years to make the film and have sat on it. So, it is my opinion that Fox, instead of being jerky, should do the right thing and let WB continue.
