Mail A Penny, Save Stargate Atlantis!

As I'm sure you know, the series finale of the show will air on Friday the 9th! YouChooser SGAfan4life has started a huge campaign to try to save the show. The plan is for fans to send user created Stargate Atlantis postcards or letters with pennies taped to them to the executives at MGM. The idea of the penny is that it will add bulk and weight, making it more difficult for the recipient of the postcard to handle and store. The plan was for postcards and letters to start hitting the mail on Jan. 5th, and continue through January 16th, with a large quantity of mail hitting the studios on Friday - when the final episode airs.

SGAfan4life has provided us with links to their website where you can download SGA stationary as well as user-created SGA postcards. Some of the postcards even have pre-written messages on them and already have the addresses on them! Click here to access the user-created postcards! Remember, those postcards will still need stamps on them in order to be delivered!

Twilight Remake Could Be Just A Rumor

The internet has been going nuts with the rumor that the Philippine network ABS-CBN had secured the rights to be able to film their own version of Twilight. It wouldn't be just voices dubbed over the original Twilight movie, the network was apparently planning a Twilight TV series with whole new actors. YouChooser Stella P., who lives in the Philippines , found all the details on one of ABS-BNS's forums. The forum listed the cast of the show and said that it would air in the prime time slot. There were even "leaked" advertising posters going around that featured the Filipino actors in the same pose as the American movie posters.

On Dec. 29 however, ABS-CBN claimed that the remake was just a rumor. In an article on their site, the network said that last week the network had done a story on the internet rumors, but had not announced that it was doing the show. "There is no truth to the Web reports," said the new article. " ABS-CBN will be the first to announce if it is, in fact doing so," said ABS-CBN Corporate Communications' Bong Osorio.

On Dec. 30, there was also an apology and an explination posted on ABS-CBN's about the incident. The statement acknowledged that a story had been posted on their site on Dec. 24 that stated the network had gained the rights for the remake. They claim the the source for the story was an online entertainment blogger.

"The duty editor who uploaded the story failed to check with ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. whether the story was correct and accurate," the statement said. The network has now removed the original article from their website and the editors added, "Our apologies."

So even though it appears it was all a big misunderstanding, Twilighters can still voice their opposition to any Twilight remakes by signing Stella's campaign against the remake. Adding your voice against Twilight remakes might help persuade any other networks against attempting their own remakes!

The Dark Knight Returns To Theaters This Month!

So not only did Heath Ledger get a Golden Globe nomination for his supporting actor role in The Dark Knight , but rumors that the movie would not be re-released in theaters were not true!

Warner Brothers had previously said they planned to re-release The Dark Knight in theaters around Oscar nomination time in the hopes that it would help the movie's chances of winning. Then reports starting surfacing that the idea had been axed and the movie would not be back in theaters. Thankfully, those rumors were not true! The Dark Knight will be back in theaters and IMAX on Jan. 23!

The re-release will make the movie the fourth movie ever to bring in over $1 billion. That puts The Dark Knight in league with Titanic , Lord of the Rings: Return of the King , and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest .

The movie has already brought in $530.5 million in the US, and $465.9 million internationally, leaving it just $4 million short of the $1 billion mark. The DVD, just released on Dec. 9, has also been setting records. Before it was released, it was the highest selling movie on iTunes and holds the record for download pre-orders.

YouChoosers loved the movie so much, they're campaigning for an Oscar Nomination for Ledger. Sign the campaign if you haven't already, and talk about the movie here with other fans!
