From the YouChoose Newsletter Editor - Mary Beth   Induct Evan Tanner into the UFC Hall of FameFans are mourning the loss of UFC Champion Evan Tanner, who passed away earlier this month when his motorcycle ran out of gas during a camping trip in the California desert. Tanner was a hero and a role model to many people, and his fans would like his memory honored by having him inducted posthumously into the UFC Hall of Fame.Check Out the Petition Obama Or McCain? Now that the conventions are over and we know who the candidates are, Obama and McCain's campaigns are revving up. While the nation won't get to have it's say until November, YouChoose members are talking about their picks now. While some people dread the shopping, Grandma's knitted sweaters or all the fruitcake, this year some YouChoosers are dreading the politically correct "Happy Holidays." They feel that it should be okay to say "Merry Christmas" to anyone and not be criticized for it. The American Red Cross has announced that they have gone into debt in order to fund relief efforts from the recent hurricanes. With the economy not looking so great, people have been donating less to the charity than usual, leaving a $70 million gap in the Red Cross' budget. A campaign has been started urging everyone to donate whatever you can to the Red Cross on Sunday, Sept. 28. Though the campaign has been started by Moonlight fans, anyone can help out.Pledge to Donate to the Red Cross on the 28th! Moonlight DVD May Never See The LightMoonlight fans are still howling for a DVD release of their favorite show, but news doesn't look very hopeful. Rumors state a release date of Sept. this year, and Netflix and Amazon have listings for when – and if – a DVD becomes available. One fan wrote to WB inquiring about a release date, but received a short message stating that there was no information available. In the meantime, the whole season of Moonlight is still available on iTunes.Discuss Here Saving DaysEver since it was announced in 2007 that Days of our Lives was not expected to be renewed past 2009, fans have been trying to get NBC to change it's mind. NBC has not made any announcements that they have decided to continue with the show. Speculation is that it just isn't getting the ratings needed to make it worthwhile in NBC's eyes. There are rumors flying though that ABC, Oxygen and possibly even DirectTV are interested in picking up the show once it's run ends on NBC. There's also the slim hope that their new daytime programming director will have a soft spot for Days, and decide to renew the show past 2009.Discuss Here The Girls Visit A New Zip CodeGossip on the internet is that the recent successful premiere of the new 90210 may send some of its good vibes to the Gilmore Girls. The shows have the same demographic, so the thinking may be that if 90210 can draw the viewers back to the network, they may stay for the Girls. Writer Amy Sherman-Palladino has said that she's interested in doing a Gilmore Girls movie, but as of yet nobody is moving forward with movie plans.Discuss Here An Oscar is No Joke to WBMany YouChoosers have been working together trying to generate an Oscar nomination of Heath Ledger for his role as the Joker in The Dark Knight. Now it seems that there is someone else aiming for the golden statue, Warner Brothers! WB is considering re-releasing the The Dark Knight in Imax theaters in January, when nominations are chosen. Discussions are already underway with Imax executives, however it is not known how widespread the release will be. The Dark Knight will be released on DVD this December. Will people really flock back to the theaters to see it again when they can watch it in the comfort of their own home?Discuss Here Have an interesting story to share?
