I hope that one day, people realize that money only drives a system of failure. We need to work for the greater good. Unfortunately, this is the human race, and that will never happen .. Submitted by Randall P. on Thu, 04/24/2008 - 23:31
We keep forgeting that the US government does NOT have the RIGHT to tax anything and everything they can. Keep the Internet tax free! Submitted by Giovanni G. on Tue, 04/22/2008 - 22:39

What is sad to me is the way the goverment wants to tax what we enjoy. Some enjoy smoking, they tax it. Some enjoy having property for there children to play, they tax it. Sad times war has the country going broke so they are looking for new things we enjoy to tax. Submitted by genea g. on Wed, 04/09/2008 - 18:03
Considering this country was founded for Religious freedoms and avoiding taxation I think it's a good idea to keep the Internet Tax Free...after all they tax us out the wazooooooooo for everything else anymore. It's TIME they allow us some kinda break especially since the price of gas is out the window and folks are more restrained to be home and on the internet. Submitted by Pat M. on Tue, 04/08/2008 - 14:35
I am not surprised by this. We get taxed on everything else. Gas,Food, Clothing. We buy cars and homes that we have to pay taxes on every year which is not right. Emissions is just an air tax in my opinion. The government needs to back off. We are all strugging to survive with the utility hike, mortgage crisis, gas prices. We deserve at least one break. Making the internet taxable is complete insanity, it's just another way to gauge hard working people who already give more than they should to the government. Submitted by Wendy T. on Sat, 03/15/2008 - 18:32

You may think that it's government's role to govern...I wish. Instead, it's primary role is to GROW. You cannot do that without taxes. This is just like the rising price of gasoline. Increase it 0.10 per gallon then drop it 2 or 3...similar to gradually increasing the heat to boil the frog...small increases are easier to adjust to. Introduce a bill, let people discuss how much they dislike the idea of taxes...wait awhile...then do it again...it will happen boys and girls...eventually. The United States of America is becoming a Police state if anybody hasn't noticed if there isn't a law against something than there is a tax for somebody else to pay for there law bidding self....regardless of all of this who is recieveing all the money in the end?...yes you got it right out wonderful government that is spending money on keeping wet back from swimming on our shores and keep food in childrens mouths from across an international pond in a third world country. but quick question? what do americans have to show for it? our freedom? how much does this " freedom " cost and when are we done paying for it???????? Suck on this America suck on it hard Submitted by John J. on Mon, 12/31/2007 - 23:39
When the rich wanna get richer, no one cares. When the poor get poorer, no one cares. When you steal money from us this time...what will it go towards?? Um nothing... You just get richer and we get poorer and no one can do a **** thing about it.

The internet is one of the last great information frontiers a forum for the ages. You can find anything about anything, and it belongs to everyone. The government should be kept far from the internet. Submitted by Sandra V. on Thu, 11/29/2007 - 22:51

Well, November is here and it looks like the internet is going to stay tax free for at least another four years according to the House bill that just passed. The Senate bill would like it to be 7 years. Once they nail down the timing, the bill will go to President Bush. Submitted by lynn n. on Sun, 10/28/2007 - 04:45
I live in Cook County, Illinois, and we are about to be taxed from every area of government. Our Governor has refused to sign a new budget (but somehow found time to approve 2 (yes 2!!) pay increases for some government agencies. SOOOO - Don't tax the Internet - NO MORE TAXES - PERIOD!!! Enough is enough! How about some PAY CUTS for some/all of our elected officials that make careers out of screwing the public.... Submitted by norman m. on Mon, 10/22/2007 - 05:35
Congress & Senate put your own houses in order first, like giving yourselves a pay cut and then work for your pay like regular folks. enough is enough. Time for another tea party, Huh. Loading People... |
