Description:
Right now, Congress is debating the future of the Internet. The good news is national lawmakers in Washington have successfully protected Internet access from Federal taxes. The bad news is that the laws that keep Internet access tax-free will EXPIRE NOVEMBER 2007. Congress should protect American consumers and achieve the bi-partisan goal of passing the "Permanent Internet Tax Freedom Act of 2007" which seeks to permanently extend the moratorium on Internet access taxes and duplicative taxes on e-commerce.
We, the undersigned, support the "Permanent Internet Tax Freedom Act of 2007".
Lets keep our right to information and commerce out off the lobbyists hands! We we don't do something about this problem, future problems will become much worse.
Tax and Speech and Other Controls Free!!
I hope that one day, people realize that money only drives a system of failure. We need to work for the greater good. Unfortunately, this is the human race, and that will never happen ..
We keep forgeting that the US government does NOT have the RIGHT to tax anything and everything they can. Keep the Internet tax free!
I use the Internet everyday. People all over the world use the internet and now its going to get taxed. Wake up... its not about the money!!!!
What is sad to me is the way the goverment wants to tax what we enjoy. Some enjoy smoking, they tax it. Some enjoy having property for there children to play, they tax it. Sad times war has the country going broke so they are looking for new things we enjoy to tax.
Considering this country was founded for Religious freedoms and avoiding taxation I think it's a good idea to keep the Internet Tax Free...after all they tax us out the wazooooooooo for everything else anymore. It's TIME they allow us some kinda break especially since the price of gas is out the window and folks are more restrained to be home and on the internet.
I could go on and on about WHY it needs to remain tax free but will shut it down now :)
I am not surprised by this. We get taxed on everything else. Gas,Food, Clothing. We buy cars and homes that we have to pay taxes on every year which is not right. Emissions is just an air tax in my opinion. The government needs to back off. We are all strugging to survive with the utility hike, mortgage crisis, gas prices. We deserve at least one break.
We are soon becoming the haves and the have nots.
tax this tax that pretty soon youll be taxed to do everday thing, oh wait we do!!!!!! and the rich get richer and the poor get sh*t on
Screw that if there is tax on the internet im not using it anymore. To much stuff is taxed today.
Making the internet taxable is complete insanity, it's just another way to gauge hard working people who already give more than they should to the government.
They have to keep it TAX FREE! or a lot of us won,t be able to aford to use the internet any more!Cause if it can happen in the states WHO,s next????????
no more taxes, we have to pay tax on food here
Leave it the way it is I'm doing good to pay the cable bill now if they tax the cable bill goes up more.
You may think that it's government's role to govern...I wish. Instead, it's primary role is to GROW. You cannot do that without taxes. This is just like the rising price of gasoline. Increase it 0.10 per gallon then drop it 2 or 3...similar to gradually increasing the heat to boil the frog...small increases are easier to adjust to. Introduce a bill, let people discuss how much they dislike the idea of taxes...wait awhile...then do it again...it will happen boys and girls...eventually.
The United States of America is becoming a Police state if anybody hasn't noticed if there isn't a law against something than there is a tax for somebody else to pay for there law bidding self....regardless of all of this who is recieveing all the money in the end?...yes you got it right out wonderful government that is spending money on keeping wet back from swimming on our shores and keep food in childrens mouths from across an international pond in a third world country. but quick question? what do americans have to show for it? our freedom? how much does this " freedom " cost and when are we done paying for it???????? Suck on this America suck on it hard
dont tax the internet! dont you dare!
Long live Tax Free Internet Shopping
When the rich wanna get richer, no one cares. When the poor get poorer, no one cares.
When you steal money from us this time...what will it go towards?? Um nothing...
You just get richer and we get poorer and no one can do a **** thing about it.
The internet is one of the last great information frontiers a forum for the ages. You can find anything about anything, and it belongs to everyone. The government should be kept far from the internet.
OH COME ON TAX HERE TAX THERE. THIS IS DOWN RIGHT CRAZY.
CAN'T WE HAVE SOMETHING IN LIFE TO ENJOY WITHOUT UNCLE SAM STICKING

It's nice to know that not all rich politicians are waging war against the middle class!
Salute to Senator John Sununu and to President Bush for championing this important bill!
