It's all about the bottom line. Racing is a business, one I've been involved with for almost 20 years, and I have seen many things that don't make sense. Corporate voices for heard over fan voices. Contracts with NASCAR, NHRA, IHRA and other raceing organizations are made in boardrooms. She may not have been able to "give" him #8 due to contracts. The numbers are under contract with the owners by years, not by season. Who knows what his future will bring, he holds his own future, let him makee his own name. Mrs. Earnhardt does not owe his children anything that their father didn't give them when he was alive. Again, we don't know what is on paper between them, but she was the owner of the company while Sr. was alive. She managed the business, giving him the time to race, what the whole business isi about.

I would seriously think that by now the fans have calmed down and gotten over the hurt that Teresa Earnhardt has caused not only Jr. but his fans as well, but guess what - we haven't. I will never ever support a DEI car again as long as I live. She has taken away a tradition, family values, and love because of her greed. I have nothing good to say about her, so I will say nothing at all. But I will say that this is his grandfather's number that HE WAS NAMED after for God's sake and I think it is a terrible thing to do. How silly that you can't let a number go that never even belonged to you. I certainly didn't see her driving the car. I think that Dale Sr. is looking down with great disappointment. The number 8 has been in the Earnhardt family for years.
It was Dale Jr.'s grandfather's # also.
Teresa needs to let Dale have the number, she only has the company (which really isn't hers either), because Dale Sr. didn't get to sign the papers before his passing. She sounds and acts like a real witch ! There's other words I have used for her too, but not appropriate for the internet.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way about her. No wonder Dale Jr. decided not to stay with DEI.
If she really cared for her husbands children, then she would've gave them the company right after their fathers passing. But she didn't and now she acts as if she's a gold digger and it looks to be that way too.
Some people think that, the money is all she was after all along. And she keeps proving it to the whole Nascar Community, by not giving the company to it's rightful owners, which is Dale Earnhardt Sr.'s children.
Granted she does have one child to him, but he was thinking about his children's futures when he made the company. Not just one child, all of his children !
