I have been at island school since year 7 in 2003. I am now in year 11. i was at the school when Sir David James was principle and i have to admit, i have never admired someone as much as i have admired him. his devotion and dedication not only to being a good principle and role model but a good friend. I have never met an adult that had so much energy and charisma. He remmbered every students name (that is no exageration). He always said that being good in the classroom was not always the only important thing and vice versa. He accepted people who were good at art/ sports/ music.... AND never ever judged a book by its cover. He believed in second chances and allowing the students to express their ideas and learn in the way they thought was most suitable.

 BUT 3 years ago a new principle was voted and the school hasnt been the same ever since. NOW IT IS ONLY THOSE WHO ACHIEVE TOP SCORED EDUCATIONALY THAT ARE REWARDED. THOSE WHO DONT GET EXPELLED OR PUNISHED. MRS HUGES IS A DISGRACE TO EDUCATON. SHE BELEIVE IN NO 2ND CHANCES AND ALLOWES NOT STUDENT TO EXPRESS HIMSELF. MY FRIEND WAS A GIRL WHO WASNT GOOD IN CLASS BUT AMAZING AT ART, SHE HAD A GREAT PERSONALITY AND TEAM/SCHOOL SPIRIT. SHE CAME IN ISLAND SCHOOL A WRECK, BUT OVER 2 YEARS BECAME A PHEONOMENAL PERSON. BUT JUST THIS WEEK MRS HUGES DECIDED TO EXPELL HER. IN THE PAST 3 YEARS OF HER BEING PRINCIPLE MORE KIDS HAVE BEEN KICKED OUT THAN EVER BEFORE.

I URGE YOU TO ACT TO GET RID OR HER AND TEACHERS LIKE HER.
